Session Title: CROMERR Working Group
Session Description:
During the 2011 Exchange Network National Conference Pam Osnaya from Montana DEQ facilitated a round table discussion on the challenges facing small states and agencies as they strive to attain Cross-Media Electronic Reporting Regulation (CROMERR) compliance. The intent was to identify opportunities to share knowledge, lessons learned, and technology to help states and agencies with limited resources to move forward in a cost effective manner. Subsequent to the National Conference, Pam Osnaya from Montana DEQ, together with Tom Copeland from Oklahoma DEQ sponsored a series of CROMERR Working Group Sessions which was facilitated by CGI. The CROMERR Working Group, which consisted of approximately 15 States and agencies, established a generic CROMERR Roadmap outlining key business process steps and technical components necessary for achieving CROMERR compliance. The Roadmap also provided a suggested order for implementation of the various steps. In addition, the CROMERR Working Group defined a conceptual approach to a CROMERR solution that can be jointly leveraged by multiple States.
As a “next step” to the activities of the CROMERR Working Group, Montana DEQ is nearing completion of a project to establish a detailed CROMERR Roadmap specific to the needs of the State. In doing so, Montana DEQ is examining how a CROMERR solution can and should fit within the overall eReporting infrastructure for the Agency. This work will be complete in the Summer of 2012.
During this session the presenters will discuss the following:
1. The evolution of the CROMERR Working Group, including:
a. The generic roadmap and how it can be leveraged by any State
b. The conceptual approach to a CROMERR solution that can be shared by multiple States
2. Details on the Montana DEQ CROMERR Roadmap, and how a CROMERR solution will fit into the overall eReporting environment
3. One State’s CROMERR Journey and Lessons Learned (presented by Miles Neale of Washington State)
