ANSI has introduced several new features on webstore.ansi.org, a website for the purchase and download of U.S. and other national, regional or international standards. Now users will experience increased speed and usability through added features like auto-complete for document number searches, RSS feeds, and e-mail-a-friend functionality.

ANSI to Launch U.S.-India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program

ANSI has announced the upcoming launch of the U.S.–India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program. Ceremonies will take place in New Delhi on February 20, 2009, and in Washington, DC on March 2, 2009. The Institute will carry out the program with funding from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and in coordination with the Confederation of Indian Industry.

ANSI-HSSP Workshop Examines Urgent Needs in Transit Security Standardization
With 568 individual trains operating during the height of rush hour and 468 stations to monitor, New York City transit security officials face the critical task of keeping over 1.5 billion passengers safe each year. Statistics like there underscore the urgent need for interoperable standards and conformity assessment-based solutions that meet the complex requirements of the transit security community.

ANSI Seeks Comments on New ISO Work Item Proposal for Consumer Credit Scoring
The Austrian member body to the International Organization for Standardization, Österreichisches Normungsinstitut, has submitted a new work item proposal for a standard that specifies requirements of consumer credit scoring. As the U.S. member body to ISO, the American National Standards Institute invites all interested stakeholders to submit comments by March 13, 2009.
