ITEM 1 – MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
2. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the members and agreed as a true record of proceedings. / Sec
ITEM 2 – MATTERS ARISING
3. The Chair welcomed Mr and Mrs Haughey who have recently experienced an horrific fire which devastated their home. Fortunately both were unharmed and have now been re-housed in Melksham. / Chair/Treasurer
ITEM 3 – NEW MEMBERS
4. There are no new members. / Membership

ITEM 4 – TREASURER’S REPORT
5. The branch current balance stands at £6,455.54
of which £1711.22 refers to the Mary Hamilton donation. / Treasurer
ITEM 5 – SECRETARY’S REPORT & CORRESPONDENCE
6. Extracts from the county circular were read to the meeting.
7. The sec reported proceedings at the Secretary and treasurer training day held at Calne. / Sec
ITEM 6 – COMMITTEE REPORTS
8. Welfare. There were no cases to report.
9. Poppy Appeal. Nothing new to report.
10. Events. The Events Secretary reported that the Branch Web Site has been updated but there is still a need for branch members to provide her with new or updated information to keep the site current.
11. The following events were reported:
●  A visit o the National Arboretum – 7th July £27 per head
●  A BBQ at Rod Jefferies – 12 Aug £5 per head
●  Alternative date for BBQ (in the event of wet weather) – 19 Aug
●  90th Dinner – 15th Sep at Chippenham Sports Club
●  Christmas Dinner – 15th Dec Pheasant Chippenham
12. News Letter. The latest news letter will be published in the near future. A request for news articles was made and members who would rather have the news letter delivered digitally were asked to provide their email address.
13. Fundraising. The Branch will set up a stall in Chippenham on 2nd June. Volunteers to assist were requested. / Welfare Offr

ITEM 7 – ANY OTHER BUSINESS
14. War Memorial. The president raised the subject of the condition of the town war memorial. He explained that he has had a meeting with the Town Council and that he has suggested that instead of spending money on restoration that a new memorial, better able to withstand the weather and pollution be erected in its place.
15. The secretary was asked to write to the Town Council on behalf of the branch to formally raise our concerns.
16. It was agreed that the President would act as the lead on this project.
17. County Parade. The Chair briefed the meeting on the meeting held with County Officials and local dignitaries. She briefly outlined the agreed order of events. A copy of the minutes of the meeting will be provided to the branch members at the next meeting. / Floor

18. The next meeting was agreed to be held at The Angel Hotel, Chippenham at 19.30 on the 9th May 2012. / Chair
