Provides research stipends of $20,000 to individuals who are responsible for producing a 30-
40 page research report in one of the areas presented within the solicitation. Manuscript must

Program: Partnership for a Nation of Learners Community Collaboration Grants

Builds & strengthens working relationships among libraries, museums, & public broadcasting licensees that enhance their roles within their communities. Each project should show how such collaboration & shared resources enable partners to meet clearly defined needs for one or more audience segments within their local communities. Program: Landmarks of American History: Workshops

Both Workshops for School Teachers & for Community College Faculty provide support for a series of one-week residence-based workshops at historic sites. Workshops should be academically rigorous, focus on key primary sources & documents relevant to Amer. history, & involve leading scholars as lecturers or seminar leaders. Program: Small Business Innovative Research Program (SBIR)

Supports Phase II awards to stimulate technological innovation to strengthen role of small businesses in meeting federal R&D needs, increase the commercial application of ED supported research results, & improve the return on investment from federally funded research for economic & social benefits. Program: Teacher Incentive Fund

The Teacher Incentive Fund is a new program that supports efforts to develop and implement
performance-based teacher and principal compensation systems in high-need schools. LEAs and SEAs are eligible to apply and must partner with at least one nonprofit organization (including IHEs). About $43 million of FY 06 funds are available for up to 20 awards. Depending on the strength of applications, additional awards may be made using FY 07 funds. Program: TRIO: Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement

Awards grants to institutions of higher education for projects designed to prepare participants for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. In all projects, at least two-thirds of the participants must be low-income, first-generation college students. In FY 07, $41.9 million is available to fund up to 180 awards. Program: Social Science Research on Emerging Issues in Forensic Science

NIJ is soliciting research on a broad array of emerging social science research issues in forensic science including, but not limited to, DNA databases, wrongful convictions, and evaluations of new forensic technologies and management practices. Program: Prisoner Reentry Initiative

A collaborative, comprehensive grant program offered with support from HHS, DOL, ED, & HUD designed to address the issues related to adult & juvenile violent offenders who are to be or have been released from correctional facilities. Aims to reduce recidivism by returning offenders. Competition is open to state & local jurisdictions working in partnership with other organizations such as IHEs. Program: Legal Assistance for Victims Grant Program

Program is intended to increase the availability of legal assistance necessary to provide effective aid to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, or sexual assault who are seeking relief in legal matters arising as a consequence of that abuse or violence. Program awards grants to law school legal clinics, legal aid or legal services programs, domestic violence victims' shelters, bar associations, sexual assault programs, & private

Supports policy-relevant research on employment issues via two funding opportunities: Research Grants provide up to $75,000 for projects that lead to book-length manuscripts; & Mini-Grants provide $5,000 for innovative research papers that have special funding needs such as summer compensation or to acquire special data sets, meet unusual computer processing or programming needs, or to cover travel to collect primary data.
