Article XV Workforce Advocacy Commission
Section 2 Purposes
B Support the nurse in personal and professional growth and development in the practice setting to promote positive work-related experiences. / Support nurses in personal and professional growth and development in the practice setting to promote positive work-related experiences. / The current language may imply that individual nurse representation is available through WFA so the change is for clarification.
The WFA Program of FNA is not intended (nor ableby labor law) to serve or otherwise representan individual nurse in discussions or negotiations with the said nurse's employer. The WFA Program of FNA is intended to provide resources and guidance for nurses (individually or as a group) to resolve conflicts themselves.
The following changes were considered editorial and do not require a vote by the House of Delegates.
Article III Section 1 Composition A
Membership in FNA shall consist of members of the district associations who meet the qualifications and responsibilities specified in these bylaws.
Rationale: The terms constituent and district are used interchangeably throughout the bylaws and tend to be confusing to new members. So the term district will be used throughout the bylaws when referring to FNA and the term constituent will be used in relation to ANA.
Section 3 A and C change to district
Article IX Section 2 B 2 b delete constituent
Article XI Section 3 B 2 a change to district
Article XII change title to District Associations; Section 1 B 1 change to district; B 2 delete constituent; B 4 change to district in two locations; Section 3 A change to district; Section 4 delete

Article VII Section 2 B change establishment to established
Article XV Change all references of Workplace Advocacy (WPA) to Workforce Advocacy (WFA)
Rationale: WPA was only a temporary title until a permanent title was selected. The current bylaws state that the temporary title was for a holding place only and would be changed. Therefore this becomes only an editorial change.
