VITEM VII – MISSIONARY

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Foreign citizens travelling to Brazil as ministers or members of a religious order must have this visa, which require specific authorization from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations.

Within 30 days of arrival in Brazil, bearers of a ‘Missionary Visa’ must register with the Brazilian Immigration authorities (DPMAF) and submit a copy of the visa application form, which will have been stamped and returned to them by this Embassy.

Applicants must have lived in UAE for at least one year prior to the visa application.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

FROM THE RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION

Certified photocopy of the Brazilian religious institution’s act of incorporation (“ata de constituição”)

Certified photocopy of document recognizing the legal authority of the religious order’s Principal to act on behalf of the order (“comprovante de poderes de representação legal de seu dirigente”)

Notarised term of commitment by which the Brazilian order takes full financial responsibility for the applicant and dependants’ maintenance and exit from Brazil (“compromisso da entidade no Brasil de manutenção e saída do religioso chamado do território nacional”)

FROM THE APPLICANT

VisaApplication Form (one per applicant)must be filled in at . Fill in the form. Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt. Print the receipt. Attach one passport-size photograph (please do not staple the photo; glue it, if possible). Sign the receipt. For the photograph it is required front view and white background, professionally printed;

Applicant's passport, valid for no less than 6 months, with at least two blank pages. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. Soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted;

Copy of UAE residence visa for the past 12 months;

Police Clearance (legalization fee: AED 80,00);

Original declaration of ordainment (or other document to that effect), or academic records, to certify the applicant’s religious education, duly legalised by this Embassy, being previously certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UAE. If issued by another country, they have to be legalized by the Brazilian diplomatic mission in that country. (Legalization fee: 80,00)

Declaration signed by the applicant that no activities will be conducted in native indian territory, unless authorized by the Brazilian National Indian Foundation (FUNAI). The applicant signature must be previously legalized (check the information on LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS). Legalization fee: 80,00

  • AED 80,00 for the visa.
  • Additional processing fee of AED 640,00 for US passport holders (in reciprocity basis);
  • Additional processing fee of AED 620,00 for British passport holders (in reciprocity basis);
  • Additional processing fee of AED 220,00 for UAE passport holders (in reciprocity basis);
  • Legalization fee: AED 80,00 per document.
