INTELLIGENCE OFFICER

37 Hours per week

£27,246 – £29,016

The East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) provides support in the fight against serious and organised crime to the five Forces in the East Midlands region (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire).

We are looking for Intelligence Officers to fill anticipated vacancies within the next 12 months. The vacancies could be full or part time, permanent or fixed term

The role will supervise the collection and development of Intelligence to achieve the aims and objectives of the Regional Intelligence Unit. There will however be a requirement for the post holder to work across the East Midlands region to cover the role regionally.

The Candidate:

It is essential that applicants can meet the criteria for the role including:

  • Are educated to A Level standard (or equivalent) or have equivalent work based experience
  • Demonstrate experience of conducting reactive and proactive investigations and display a sound awareness of information and evidence gathering techniques
  • Demonstrate experience of researching, developing and producing high quality intelligence reports that have supported subsequent operational activity.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the NIM and the value of intelligence in focusing operational activity.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of legislation and procedure associated with the investigation of serious and organised crime i.e. RIPA, PACE, CPIA and POCA
  • Holds a full UK driving Licence and have use of own vehicle for business purposes. (Reasonable adjustments will be considered under the equality Act 2010).

Owing to the exigencies of the service, requests may be made for overtime working and compensation will be by way of time off or overtime payment, according to circumstances. Whilst every effort is made to adhere to rostered duties, rest days and public/bank holidays, these may be changed on occasion at short notice. A degree of flexibility in working hours must therefore be acceptable to you
