Job Title:Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager

Reporting to:Head of Corporate Partnerships

Department:Fundraising

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To maximisethe value of LCD’s current corporate partnerships, in order to deliver additional sustainable net income and non-financial resources for the Charity.

To drive excellent account management practice that contributes to theextension and growth of these relationships.

To contribute to the development of the Corporate Partnerships strategy working with colleagues in Enterprise & Innovations, International and UK Operations teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To develop and implement the operational plans that maximise the opportunities for growth from current partnerships through: general and restricted income,gifts in kind or expertise.
  • To play a leading role in driving high value, complex relationships including current and new partnerships worth £1million or more.
  • To ensure all opportunities for high level engagement between key LCD and partners’ stakeholders are fully explored and exploited.
  • To lead in the intelligence gathering around new and innovative corporate partnerships, utilising opportunities within current partnerships for new business.
  • Tocreate and implement new strategies, tools and processes that demonstrate an effect rate of return on corporate investment thereby supporting the growth and renewal of current partnerships, including robust account development plans.
  • To manage good governance in the Corporate Partnerships function by setting a high standard for external reporting. Where appropriate, to use this responsibility to drive better standards across the Charity.
  • To play a key role in ensuring the team meet any contractual requirements of our corporate partners and to work with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to mitigate any issues should they arise.
  • To take the lead in ensuring LCD’s current portfolio of partners continue to meet the requirements of the Charity’s Ethical Policy. Where circumstances change, to work with the Head of Corporate Partnerships and Director of Fundraising to make the initial re-assessment and if required, refer these to the Ethical Assessment Group.
  • To be responsible for the management and development of direct reports including monitoring the delivery of objectives, carrying out appraisals and ensuring that training needs are met.
  • To develop a culture of empowerment and success across the team and role model collaborative leadership with other members of the Fundraising, Enterprise & Innovations, International and UK Operations.
  • To support the Head of Corporate Partnershipsand Director of Fundraising in the development of a compelling and forward-looking fundraising case for support, to drive both general and restricted funds.
  • To establish and manage effective systems that evaluate performance of the account management function; monitor and evaluate income/expenditure/net contribution against budget and other agreed KPIs; report on variances and implement appropriate contingency plans to ensure targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • To manage a sub-set of the department budget and ensure that results are regularly monitored and that all expenditure is in line with budget.
  • To drive a culture that embraces change, open communication, ambition, innovation, free thinking and external focus.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

Essential Other

  • Substantive evidence of driving high value and complex corporate partnerships, typically worth £500,000+
  • A demonstrable track record of developing and maintaining high value and complex relationships for UK and internationally based projects.
  • Prior experience of line management experience, demonstrating an ability to recruit, retain and develop individuals; and an ability to support and motivate individuals to meet their income targets
  • Experience of strategic planning, developing and monitoring budgets
  • To be willing to travel around the UK for meetings and events.
  • To have a strong appreciation of disability related issues
  • To have a genuine commitment to the values and ethos of Leonard Cheshire Disability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write and present proposals

  • Strong budget management and financial skills, especially in relation to the submission of project funding information.
  • A demonstrable appreciation of the issues involved in developing a credible and compelling fundraising case for support in a complex fundraising and service delivery charity.
  • Competent in standard Microsoft Office packages
  • Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or other comparable relationship marketing tool
