To Whom It May Concern:
Arata Creek is a special education program for students with emotional disturbance, learning disabilities and autism. We are seeking donations to help support a program we developed last year, the Family Fun Night. During this evening we provide our students and their families with a free meal and an evening of playing games with other students, their family members and Arata Creek/Trillium volunteers. Volunteers help model appropriate behavior, conversation and good sportsmanship. Our Family Fun Night will occur on Friday, March 11, 2011. We are seeking support to provide prizes for the students and their families during this event.
Our families are low-income and the majority of our students are on the free lunch program. At our first Family Fun Night 2009/2010 we were able to provide games, book and movies gift baskets, cooking and baking gift baskets, and sports equipment during our evening of game play. We ask that you consider a contribution of something towards gifts for our annual
Family Fun Night, whether it is items for gift baskets, gift cards or monetary contributions.
