Annual Run for the Chocolateto Take Place on Valentine’s Eve This Year

Bissinger’s to Supply Chocolate for Big Shark’s 5KRace

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, December 29, 2015

At 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2015, The Run for the Chocolatereturns to the streets of downtown St. Louis to spice up Valentine’s weekend for couples and singles alike. The race will feature copious amounts ofoutstanding chocolate from Bissinger’s, St. Louis’ premier chocolatier. All participants will receive edible chocolate prizes at this fun 5K run/walk.

Run for the Chocolatewill start and finish at Bissinger’s historic chocolate factory at 1600 North Broadway, just north of Laclede’s Landing. The course is a 5K loop heading north on historicNorth Broadway and returning alongside the Mississippi River on the Riverfront Trail.

Athletes of all ages will race in their respective relationship status categories: Bachelor, Bachelorette, Off the Market Men, Off the Market Women, Happy Couples, Cougar orManther. For those who do not like labels, the “It’s Complicated” category returns. T-Shirts or beanies for each category will indicate who is taken, available and undecided.

Six lucky winners, the top three female and top three male contestants, will each receive a Signature Valentine’s Day Collection, and more than 50Bissinger’s gift cards will be awarded to other participants. The Grand Prize for Happy Couples will be a VIP Tour of Bissinger’s historic, 220,000 square-foot chocolate factory. Chief Chocolatier Dave Owens will lead the private tour for two and will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the art and craft of making chocolate.

To ensure proper nutrition throughout the course, participants will receive Chocolate Foil Hearts at tasting stations along the way, and a Bissinger’s Chocolate Heart Lollipop at the end of the race. Post-race festivities will include chocolate fondue and cocoa, compliments of Bissinger’s, and the opportunity to peruse the company’s beautiful Chocolate Shoppe.

Run for the Chocolate will reveal just how far athletes are willing to go for chocolate. The race will also allow couples and singles alike to demonstrate their dedication to athletics, health, romanceand…chocolate.
