Ibrahim (as) was born in Mesopotamia – today known as the region of Southern Iraq.

He did not worship idols; even though his own father, Terah/Adhar made and worshipped idols.

Nimrod said he gives life and death; Ibrahim (as) asked the king that can he make the sun rise from the East – (of course not – this is only by the power of Allah).

A - Haggar – was very thirsty and looking desperately for water; she was running 7 times around the hills of Safa and Marwa when Allah’s instruction came and the water sprang from the earth for her; this is now know as the Zam-Zam water.

A – Allah commanded to sacrifice his beloved son for His Sake; the son, Ismail agreed and they proceeded to sacrifice him.

A – He tried to stop Ibrahim(as) from sacrificing his son and they stoned him.
Q14 – How did Allah T’Ala save Ismail (as)?
A ram (young lamb) was placed instead of Ismail (as); because of his submission to do the will of Allah, Ibrahim (as) passed his great test and Allah was very pleased with him.
Q15 – Why do we do Hajj and celebrate Eid-ul-Adha (of the sacrifice)?
A – To follow Allah’s commandments and remember the friend of Allah, Ibrahim (as) – from his story we should learn that we have to be ready to sacrifice everything for Allah.
