Carriers’ Holiday Service Guarantee Suspensions

FedEx says the following about its money back guarantee:

“The money-back guarantee for FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery will be suspended temporarily for packages tendered during the
14 calendar days before Monday, Dec. 25 (Monday, Dec. 11, through Sunday, Dec. 24).”
UPS
UPS’s materials state: “Under no circumstances shall UPS be liable for any damages whatsoever for delayed delivery, except as specifically provided for shipments made under the UPS Service Guarantee.”
Those materials also state,
“The guarantee does not apply to UPS commercial and residential Ground shipments or UPS Standard to Canada shipments that are picked up or scheduled to be delivered between
December 11 and December 24.”
Also, “In addition, except for UPS Next Day Air Early A.M. and UPS Worldwide Express Plus deliveries, the delivery commitment time for on-schedule delivery for all other Air and International service shipments delivered within the United States and Puerto Rico will be extended by 90 minutes on the Day after Thanksgiving Day, New Year’s Eve, and during the seven calendar days before December 25, except for the Saturday before December 25 when the delivery commitment time will be extended to end of day.” Source: pages 11 and 12 at http://www.ups.com/media/en/terms_service_11012006.pdf
DHL
DHL’s service guarantee does NOT include:
“Any package picked up or scheduled to be delivered between
December 12 and December 25.”

The DHL Service Guarantee does NOT apply to:
· duties, taxes, fuel surcharge, accessorial fees, or other charges or amounts
· transportation charges resulting from returned packages
· packages which are undeliverable for any reason
· Late Delivery due to causes beyond DHL’s control
· packages picked up or scheduled for delivery between December 12 and 25
· shipments exceeding $50,000 in value, or which are subject to lengthened transit
· times due to country-specific value limitations
· Hazmats, prohibited items, or dangerous goods
