NEW INFO REGARDING YOUR RETELL PLUS ASSIGNMENTS
· Each trimester, you will have the opportunity to hand in extra Retell Plus assignments in order to help you exceed the standard. In order to take advantage of this opportunity, you must complete all of the Retell Plus assignments that are listed on the Due Dates Calendar. If you miss any of those assignments, you will NOT be allowed to turn in any extra Retell Plus assignments.
· Once you turn in the extra Retell Plus assignments, you will not be given the opportunity to redo them (because you are handing them in at the end of each trimester), so you must put forth your best effort.
· These are the following due dates for each trimester for handing in the extra Retell Plus assignments:
o TRIMESTER 1 – TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH
o TRIMESTER 2 – WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28TH
o TRIMESTER 3 – TUESDAY, JUNE 12TH
This is how the students are graded for the Reading standard each trimester:
TRIMESTER 1: 3.0 (8 BOOKS) 3.5 (9-12 BOOKS) 4.0 (13+ BOOKS)
TRIMESTER 2: 3.0 (16 BOOKS) 3.5 (17-20 BOOKS) 4.0 (21+ BOOKS)
TRIMESTER3: 3.0 (25 BOOKS) 3.5 (26-29 BOOKS) 4.0 (30+ BOOKS)
***Please make sure you put the page numbers of your books on the Retell Plus sheet! This is how I count the pages of a book:
299 OR LESS = 1 BOOK
300 = 2 BOOKS
450 = 3 BOOKS
**Every additional 150 = another book. Also, I use my discretion for what counts as a book! If you are reading a 30 page book, then I will question you about it. Just remember, you should read a book because you are interested in the topic, not because of the number of pages!!!
