ATM Meeting Minutes - October 10, 2017
· Opening prayer lead by Deacon David – Susanne Ferris lead in meditation from “one-anothering” scripture (Hebrews 3:13)
1. Deacon David reported on future focus and learning more about what ATM is doing and to better understand our needs. David spoke about human needs being the foundation of our Church. Distinguish pastoral care = needs of our parish, within our family vs Human concerns = needs in community (outside of the church)
· 13 ministries - the coordinators are being asked to provide a brief monthly report regarding activities. Ministries chairs/co-chairs to meet quarterly to share ideas.
· More focus on transparency in finances for audit purposes – turn in monthly receipts.
· Scheduling updated per new options available in new building (July 1-June 30)
· Note many ministries end up being marketing and fundraising.
· Asked question regarding top 5 things you want to accomplish as ministry. Also submit solid budget.
2. RAM report given by Bill Breitback and Mark Law
· Remote Area Medical – based in Knoxville, TN.
· 100,000 volunteers in the program
· 1,000 clients seen in Grundy this year – offered Dental, Vision, and Medical attention
· 75 blankets donated by St. Mikes
· $400 Walmart cards
· 4 St. Mike’s volunteers participated, doing jobs like escorts, security, assembling equipment, etc.
3. Book Collection
· Kathleen & Steve collected 18 boxes, left over from Haiti yard sale
· Books to go to inmates in men’s prison – they requested books with spiritual theme as well as self-help and novels.
4. Giving Tree Update
· Submit request for funds for ATM – donations can be earmarked for a specific ministry
· Funds become part of overall church budget
5. Kids Mittens/Hats Collection – for Christmas. Faith formation children donate items (Laura Stapleton in charge) to be delivered to Appalachia.
6. Ideas for one main ATM event. To brainstorm with folks at HFP as to what they want us to do with them.
7. Note: Magda and Veronica contacts for St. Michael House – with keys and schedule
8. Note from Nora: HFP will have their Christmas party at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 10th at the local country club. $20 per person. It would be great to have a St. Michael contingency attend. Nora has reserved St. Michael House Friday through Sunday night.
