Program Description: This trip will include a drive down the Virginia Beach board walk to see beautiful holiday lights. During the ride, participants will see Santa, elves, a 40ft Christmas tree, and many more festive holiday lights. After the drive down the boardwalk, participants will go to Krispy Kreme for a warm treat (hot sign will be on!). Be sure to take a fun group photo with the Krispy Kreme hats! Participants should dress warmly and comfortably for this festive holiday ride.

Cost: $25.00 dollars for the van to go to the lights (approx. $3 per participant). If participants plan on spending more than $7 on their Krispy Kreme treat, they should bring extra money.

Time Schedule:

6:00: Depart TRC for the Virginia Beach Boardwalk

6:35: Arrive at the Boardwalk

6:35-7:10: Drive through the lights on the Boardwalk

7:10-7:25: Travel to Krispy Kreme

7:25-8:00: Enjoy your warm treat at Krispy Kreme!

8:00-8:30: Travel back to the TRC

  1. Did anyone have an experience where they forgot about the stresses and negative feelings in their lives and just enjoyed the people and places around them? If so, at what point in the trip did you experience this?
  1. Did everyone get a chance to exchange some pleasant words or stories with each of the other members of the group? Would anyone like to share a story someone told them?
  1. How many of you spent time on the bus ride back wishing that you did activities like this more often? How can you include more activities like this in your life more often?
  1. How many of you have ever put-off your own recreation time in order to work on something which someone else told you was more important? Can anyone tell me a strategy for preventing this from happening on a regular basis?

  • On the directions to the Virginia Beach Board Walk it was enter on 22nd St. The streets are number in order such as 1st ST., 2nd ST. and 3rd ST. When you get on Atlantic Ave you can drive left or right depending on which number street you ned to get to.
