Open on a Title page. The words write on screen: Party Girl
PARTY MUSIC AND FX THROUGHOUT
The scene is a party at somebody’s house. It’s late and everyone’s been drinking. We go into a bedroom where we see Emma and Ryan sitting on the bed, talking. Emma’s clearly had a lot to drink.
RYAN: So, I heard you and Liam broke up.
EMMA: (slurred) Yeah… he was a tool.
RYAN: That’s a shame. (not meaning it)
EMMA: (swaying drunkenly, barely conscious) Yeah… but you’re not like that, are you Ryan? You’re nice.
They start kissing and fall back onto the bed. After a moment, Ryan realizes that Emma’s actually fallen asleep.
At this point the action freezes and three options appear.
SUPERS:
a) get help
b) just leave her there
c) go for it
We hear Ryan speaking as voice-over:
RYAN: Where do you draw the line? Do you…
a) get help – go and ask her friends to take her home
b) just leave her there – it’s not your problem, or…
c) go for it – what’re you waiting for?
IF YOU CHOOSE (A)…
The action un-freezes. Ryan looks at Emma sleeping, then walks out of the room. Cut to him helping Lauren get into a taxi with a barely conscious Emma. Emma smiles adoringly at him.
EMMA: Thanksh Ryan. Call me tomorrow?
The words: “you’re a champion” appear on screen and there’s a sound effect that signals positive reinforcement. The viewer is taken back to the menu.
IF YOU CHOOSE (B)…
Cut to Ryan meeting his mates at the mall the next day.
MATT: Did you hear about Emma?
RYAN: (uneasy) No, what happened?
MATT: (he thinks it’s funny) She was so wasted, she hooked up with those guys that crashed the party… got a bit messy.
Ryan looks away, with a guilty expression.
The words: “how do you feel now?” appear on screen and there’s a sound effect that signals it’s maybe not the best choice. The viewer is taken back to the menu.
IF YOU CHOOSE (C)
Cut to Ryan at home in his bedroom. He hears the doorbell ring, and goes and stands by the doorway of his room, listening to the conversation at the front door.
POLICE OFFICER: Mrs Pagano?
RYAN’S MUM: Yes, what is it?
POLICE OFFICER: I’m Officer Spriggs. We’d like to talk to your son Ryan about an incident on Saturday night.
Ryan looks stricken.
The words: “want to start over?” appear on screen and there’s a sound effect that signals it’s maybe not the best choice. The viewer is taken back to the menu.
