February 23, 2015
The February 23, 2015 meeting of the Lititz Borough Zoning Hearing Board was called to order by Chairman Matthews at 7:02 PM. The meeting was opened with Silent Meditation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Zoning Hearing Board members present: Matthews, Kurtz, Olah, Westcott, Learn, Eberly (Alt), York (Alt), McDonald (Alt).
Zoning Hearing Board members excused: None
Lititz Borough Council members present: S. Hain
Also present: Jill Laskowitz, Solicitor; Lori McEntarfer; Zoning Officer, Lisa Miller; Court Reporter, Chris Strayer, Tim Strayer
A motion to approve the January 26 minutes was made by Learn and seconded by Kurtz. The motion was unanimously approved, 5 – 0.
Case #1716 – Chris Strayer – 172 N Oak Street
Applicant presented the following information in support of their request for Special Exception from Section 500.B (Expansion of Non-Conforming Use, to construct an addition to house business equipment), located at 172 N Oak Street in the R-1 Residential District.
Testimony included that the property currently has two residential uses. The semi-detached residence is a rental and the owner lives in the converted barn structure. Applicant wishes to create additional storage space for his approved Home Business use. The addition is proposed on the south side of the existing converted barn structure, facing Front Street. Applicant meets all setback requirements. Vinyl board and batten siding is proposed and the addition shall mimic the roofline of the peaked portion of the dwelling. 14 parking spaces are available to the rear of the building and a driveway is proposed from Front Street to access the proposed addition. Any sales are by appointment only. No other changes are proposed.
After a brief discussion, Kurtz made a motion to approve the request as testified. The motion was seconded by Learn, and passed unanimously, 5 – 0.
With no further items on the agenda for the evening, the hearing was adjourned at 7:41 pm.
