Company will support the District with an online learning software program to support student achievement in English Language Arts in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). This online learning software program, slated for September 1, 2017 to­ August 30, 2018, will provide the necessary supports for students to prepare for the Rhode Island Comprehensive Assessment System (RICAS).

The Company agrees to provide access to the schools for the following products:

  1. Access to a suite of products and services offered by Learning A to Z:
  1. Headsprout - adaptive K–5 digital reading program that helps students learn the foundational and comprehension skills required to become capable and confident readers. Provides scaffolded instructional approach that automatically adapts so every student receives the individualized reading practice and instruction they need, supporting the pace of every student who is learning to read and comprehend text.
  1. RAZ Plus - provides opportunities for developmentally appropriate teacher-led instruction, independent practice, and comprehensive assessment to improve the reading skills of every student, at every level. The program’s expansive, flexible library of instructional resources gives teachers the resources to deliver for whole-class, small-group, and individual instruction. Key Features of Raz-Plus:

a)50,000+ reading resources, lessons, and activities that support reading development for all learners.

b)3,000+ leveled books and additional reading resources available in printable, projectable, online, and mobile formats.

c)On-page assignment capabilities allow teachers to assign digital resources to the whole class, small groups, or individual students.

d)Online reports show individual student and class-wide progress to help determine future instruction needs.

  1. Vocabulary A-Z - an online resource that helps educators easily incorporate vocabulary in their day-to-day instruction. Teachers can quickly create their own custom word lists with five-day lesson plans using a database of over 14,000 words or choose from a collection of pre-made vocabulary lists and lessons.
  2. Reading A-Z - a collection of 1,500+ leveled fiction and nonfiction books accompanied by ancillary resources (including teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessments and activities) at 29 developmental levels. Resources are available in printable, projectable, and eBook formats.
  3. Raz-Kids - an interactive reading website where students can practice reading and teachers can monitor reading progress with digital reports; provides a library of differentiated books at 29 levels of difficulty students use to practice reading in school, at home, or on the go.
  4. Writing A-Z - a robust collection of printable and projectable lessons and skill-building activities at five developmental levels that improve students’ writing skills. The product also includes a set of interactive eLearning tools students use to practice writing skills online and submit creative compositions to their teacher, offering a variety of tools to support teachers in providing differentiated writing instruction and practice.
  5. Enhance ELL Reading Solution which includes a combination of access to Reading A-Z and Raz-Kids

In no more than three paragraphs, describe the accountability measures that will ensure that the vendor meets all requirements set forth in the contract and that the district is able to maintain a record of the quality of the services.

Every contract should include explicit language requiring vendor accountability, i.e. required program evaluation or the submission of a final report summarizing progress against each itemized deliverable.

The Company must adhere to the following expectations for customer service by providing:

  1. Technical assistance to District and its schools when needed
  2. Troubleshooting and resolution of issues with the Product and its functionality, preferably within a 24 hour period;
  3. Informal training for District and school staff in support of the use of the Product; and
  4. Mid-year (January) and end of year (June) usage and achievement reports that include current and comparison data points for both educators and students.
