III. / Treasury Report 2016 Wrap-up, following national mtg
Annual Budget: Begins after ASCLS Annual Mtg. / April / April was not available, updated budget will be provided at Region V meeting. Pat indicated no expected changes to budgeted amounts from previous year with the exception of a potential increase in funding for the Annual ASCLS meeting, due to the meeting being in San Diego California. President’s council will review at Region V Symposium.

Membership –
  1. Activity Updates
/ Brooke / First membership call is scheduled for 9/19/2016.
Annual meeting was a wrap up of previous years activities, discussion over success of package memberships. Educational packages were well received, there was some discussion on the increased cost. Also discussed new group briefly, voices under 40.
PAC
  1. Activity updates
/ Tanya / Tanya was absent; however Pat reported a conversation with her that she has already been in contact with National PAC chair Shirley Heber. Tanya was a previous ASCLS-SD PAC chair and is well versed in the process and duties.
Leadership Development/Leadership Academy
  1. Activity update
/ Cindy / Cindy encouraged presidents to submit Keys to the Future as soon as states know who they are. Also encouraged participation in Leadership Academy. LDC is looking at leadership transitions and enhancing those opportunities and events across all levels.
GAC
1. Activity update / Lori/Matt or
Mike / Matt provided an update on the major items that have been of recent news. The VA Nurse initiative was sent out by Matt to all state presidents; collaborative effort to oppose nurses doing and supervising lab tests. Other major item was the PAMA data submission which was already past. Data is not analyzed yet and it will be sometime before that information is available.
Diversity Advocacy Council / Alice / Will be meeting in the next upcoming week.
Committee has opted to have a chair/co-chair
Reviewed charges at annual meeting, hoping for a more detailed update at the Region V Council Meeting.
Region V Symposium / Alice / 24 Vendors to date and only 24 attendees registered. Please encourage your members to get their registration in.
Student Forum / Haylee/Pat / Pat introduced Haylee Erickson, SDSU student as the new Region V student forum representative. Haylee has been in contact with the National Student forum and their first call is Sept 26th. Haylee will be in attendance at the Region V Symposium
New Professional / Bridget / Not present, No information or update received.
State Updates
SD - Jeff
MN - Sue
ND - Sharon
WI - Kelly / ASCLS SD; already met as a board, gearing up for fall one day, Nov 11th in Huron SD. Contacting lapsed members.
ASCLS MN; already met as a board, next week strategic planning meeting. Student group is already planning several student nights across Minnesota.
ASCLS-ND; Has not met as a board yet, Sharon has been out for personal reasons. Anticipate a meeting prior to the Region V Symposium
ASCLS-WI; Sue reported for Wisconsin, has indicated working with National on Student to NP transition. Has not been going well, likely due to so many changes at the National Level. LaCrosse group is again dissolving, unsure of the status. Cindy Koffman suggested they contact Joyce White to assist or provide information.
Pat offered assistance or if anyone needed any help in committee contacts etc. to be sure and let her know of state needs.
