Welcome to worship at Westwood CRC! A Christ-centered community inspiring people to find and follow Jesus! It is a joy to have you worshiping with us today on this Easter Sunday. If you are a visitor and would like more information about us, we invite you to fill out a Connect card in the pew racks and return it to the box on the Connect Center or place it in the offering bag. We invite you to stay after the service and enjoy refreshments, which are available at both the Lobby and Kitchen Coffee Spots.
INTRO to Westwood: Visitors and newer friends, grab a cup of coffee after the Worship service the third Sunday in Mayand stop by the Youth Room directly behind the Worship Center to meet one of our Staff members. We’d love to share more about the heartbeat of Westwood, our vision and ministries, and answer questions you might have. If you’re interested, we’ll even take a tour. Come, say hello!
Hearing aid units which are wirelessly connected into our sound system are available for those who might find them helpful. They can be found near the office window at the entrance of the building. If you need help with them speak to one of the connect greeters.
TODAY IN WESTWOOD
Children’s and Adult Discipleship Classes:
Adult Discipleship: “Grace/Truth – Exploring a Christian’s response to LGBT People” (a four-week class). This class is based on material that has been compassionately developed by Dr. Preston Sprinkle and The Center of Faith, Sexuality, and Gender, a Biblically-solid Christian organization.
Today we will continue our sermon series – “Make Your Mark” – on the Samson narrative in Judges 13-16. Today’s sermon, “Seventy-Seven Times,” challenges us to choose to get right what Samson got wrong: to be people marked by a spirit of forgiveness rather than falling into destructive cycles of revenge.
Children’s Worship for 3 year olds – 1st grade meets today during this service for fun, meaningful learning and praise. When children are dismissed, a teacher will meet you at the back of the Worship Center to direct you downstairs.
Prayer after morning service: After every morning Sunday service, the Prayer ministry is offering intercessory prayer for anyone who desires it. People who would like to pray with you are available by the prayer room. No prayer is too small – whether for thanksgiving, healing support or salvation – for yourself or someone close to you. This is done in complete confidentiality and love.
Summer Outreach: Summer is Prime Time for reaching out and meeting our neighbors! It’s crucial that the Church doesn’t just“leave on vacation” from outreach interest for the summer, when our community is most interested and available for interaction. We need your thoughts/suggestions/feedback to help direct our summer ministries. Please gather in Room 101 following worship TODAY for an important discussion with Cheri and our Outreach Team.
Pickleball at 1:30 today. We have two nets for play, so there will be less down time. Teams can be made up of mixed doubles, women's doubles or men's doubles. Please bring your own paddle if you own one, because there is a limited number of them available.
