MARKING REFEREES
There is a conflict over the marking of referees within our handbook. On page 16, 14 (E) states that . . . should a mark of less than 60 be given, then a written explanation will be required by the Referees Secretary. The same paragraph refers the reader to Page 76, Guides to marking a referee. The first conflict is that it should read Page 46.
The second part of the conflict is that in the final paragraph of the guide it states when a mark of 60 or less is awarded a letter of explanation should be sent. This is the correct requirement as per FA Guidelines.
To conform with the FA Guidelines therefore, we now require a letter of explanation submitting to the Referees Secretary when a referee is scored 60 or less.
We will amend this rule at next years AGM as a mandatory FA requirement.
So in a nutshell from hereon in, if you score a referee say 61/100 NO letter is required, but if you score the referee 60 or less then a letter of explanation IS required.
