Joan began competing in agility in 1993. She is nationally known for the wide variety of breeds and number of dogs that she has handled. With over 300 agility titles on dogs ranging from the 8 inch class to the 30 inch class, from the herding, sporting, terrier, nonsporting, toy and hound groups, she has had the experience to work with all breeds and sizes of dogs in the sport.
In 2001, Joan had the #2 ranked German Shepherd Dog, the #6 ranked Sheltie, the #2 ranked Beagle, and the #1 (and only) ranked Norfolk Terrier by the American Kennel Club.
She is a 3 time AKC/USA World Team Member with 2 dogs and a Silver Medalist in Portugal. She hasrun clean atthe World Championships and the European Opensshe has competed in. Her youngest competitiondog, Neil, a Sheltie, has placed at the European Open, won both the individual and team spots at the AKC World team tryouts, won the International class at the AKC Nationals, ranked #1 sheltie for AKC, and competed at every National since he was 2.
She willstart competing witha new Aussie and Sheltiethis year.
Registration:
The cost of the seminar is $200 per working dog which includes soda and water. The cost for auditing is $50 per day. Each handler/auditor will need to bring a sack lunch, a chair, and water for your dog. A non-refundable $100 deposit will hold a working spot. The balance will be due May 1, 2009. Working slots will be handled on a first come, first served basis.
