JOINING INFORMATION
If your Society is thinking of joining the World Federation of Right to Die Societies, this information may help you.
Membership of the World Federation of Right to Die Societies is open to all Societies having Members or Supporters,having a Board or Committee which performs executive functions on their behalf, and whose main Object is consistent with the Objects of the World Federation of Right to Die Societies.
Associate Membership is open to Societies whose primary focus is not Right to Die issues but who support the Objects of the World Federation of Right to Die Societies, for example Human Rights organizations. Associate Members have no vote.
Membership may be granted by the Committee on an interim basis, to be confirmed at the next Members' General Assembly.
At present (decision General Assembly, May 2016), the annual fee for Membership or Associate Membershipof the World Federation of Right to Die Societies is calculated (subject to a minimum of US$100 and a maximum of US$2,500) as 1% of the applicant’s own total annual income of the previous year. Concessions may be agreed for impecunious Societies.
The Objects of the World Federation of Right to Die Societies are to:
(a) promote the cause of self-determination in dying by making representationsto any appropriate international organizationand by commissioning andpublishing research into any aspect of that issue;
(b) provide a means for exchange between member organizations;
(c) promote co-operation and liaison between organizations whose aim is toadvance the individual's right to self-determination in dying;
(d) promote and hold international conferences;
(e) encourage the formation of organizations with similar aims in countrieswhere they do not exist.
Popular features of the World Federation of Right to Die Societies are the series of international meetings held biennially in one of member’s countries. These meetings offer delegates from member societies a chance of live networking, collective solidarity, and an opportunity to establish contacts and make like-minded friends worldwide.
