2010 PRE-CONFERENCE NEWS LETTER
Greetings of peace in the very precious name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
This news letter is to update brethren on the forthcoming 2010 Benin National conference.
GENERAL UPDATES
The National Conference Committee(NCC) set up at the May 2009 Stake holders’ Meeting has been doing so much to ensure proper arrangements are in place for an anointed holy convocation.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the Benin National Conference has also been very busy putting finishing touches to the preparations towards a hit-free conference.
We need to praise God for the sacrifices of these wonderful brethren and to also lift them up in prayers before the Lord as they are committed to ensuring we have an anointed and hitch free conference.
PRESENT CONSTRAINTS
The major areas of constraints before the two committees are:
- Slow speed at which brethren get information from their local fellowships to them.
- Slow inflow of finances, especially from the general registrations and fees for hotels.
This applies to brethren residing in Nigeria, as our foreign brethren, being our guests attend the conference at no fee, but are free to give offerings towards the conference as God enables them.
It would be appreciated if fellowships assist to ease these constraints by responding quickly, as this has made logistics, planning and financial commitments to facilities quite cumbersome!
CONFERENCE DETAILS
For good repetitions and emphasis, the details for the 2010 National Conference are as follows:
CONFERENCE VENUE: NIGERIAN BAPTIST CONVENTION GROUNDS, BENIN CITY, EDO STATE NIGERIA.
DATE: March 31st –April 5th 2010(Convention starts by 6pm on Wednessday, March 31st and rounds up the night of Sunday, April 4th, for departure on Monday, 5th April.
CONFERENCE THEME: “Understanding the times: The Light of His Kingdom & His day”.
CONFERENCE FEES:
(1)GENERAL (HOSTEL) FEES-N3, 000.00 only/person (This includes Accommodation in hostels, feeding twice daily for adults & thrice daily for children + transportation shuttles between hostels and conference venues). The fees are same for adults & children.
(2)HOTEL ACCOMODATION FEES-N42, 000.00/ROOM (Covers the 5 Nights of stay at the hotel during the conference period).
It is to be emphasized that not more than 3 adults can be in a room OR 2 adults + 3 children.
Each occupant of the hotel room is also expected to pay N3, 000/person for feeding.
HIGHLIGHTS: Worship sessions, Ministries of the word, Seminars, Evenings of mixed sessions, Children & Youths Sessions, Counselling Sessions, etc.
TECHNICAL SEMINAR:
A pre-conference technical seminar is to hold, with representatives from the various fellowships attending, who wish to update and sharpen their skills with modern technology in the areas of: RECORDING (Audio & Video), EDITING, MESSAGE DUPLICATING, ETC.
The technical seminar will also serve the purpose of ‘brainstorming’ to ensure we have better productions of messages at our local fellowships.
DETAILS:
Date: March 28th-31st 2010(Arrival on Sunday, March 28th).
Venue: Palm Royal Hotel, Ugbowo, Benin City, Edo State.
Fee (For technical Seminar days): N8, 500.00 only per person & covers accommodation & feeding.
Since the representatives of the various fellowships at the technical seminar are coming on behalf of the fellowships, it is advised they be sponsored by the local fellowships, as a form of encouragement.

CONFERENCE ADVANCE CREW
Certain persons will be required to arrive at the conference venue a day earlier, to tidy up necessary arrangements that will ensure a hitch-free conference:
- CLO-The conference Liaison officers of the various fellowships
- Language translators
- Co-ordinators of worship sessions
Arrangements shall be made for their accommodation and feeding for the night. Such should report on arrival at the conference venue.
SUBSIDY OFFERINGS
Individual brethren and fellowships are encouraged to give generously towards subsidizing the conference. Such offerings can be paid into the conference account (Given at end of this news letter). This is to fund the costs of facilities that are common to all at the conference but which are not tied to the conference fees.
FELLOWSHIPS PREPARATIONS
It is expected that there would be corporate preparations for the conference at fellowships levels. Opportunities should be taken to prepare the brethren in the following areas:
- Admonitions to all generally as to the purpose of the conference
- Special preparations and admonitions to the youths as to the reason for attending the conference and the need to uphold Christian traditions, integrity, holiness and godly decorum at the conference.
- Special preparations and admonitions to mothers to take good care of their children and keep their eyes on them all through the conference period. Particularly, all children below 12 years of age are expected to lodge with either of their parents.
- Brethren should avoid loitering around during conference sessions, as a special detachment of brethren and security operatives are being briefed to prevent this.
It is encouragedthat the above, coupled with intercessions towards the conference can be better held in an atmosphere of prayer & fasting sessions arranged to suit the local fellowships.

PERSONAL PREPARATIONS
The National conference is a holy convocation of God’s people with a heart for Him and who seek His fullness in their lives.
It serves among others, to rejuvenate God’s people and also keep them abreast of the prophetic counsel of God for the end times.
It is not a conference to be attended with levity or unseriousness, hence the need for each one attending the conference to take out personal times of seeking the Lord for His outpourings and visitations at the conference.
It is imperative to specifically seek God’s face for an anointed atmosphere for divine workings and operations and to also pray fervently for the vessels of ministries.
The world is at a serious crossroad, especially as strange and unexplainable events are daily unfolding before us, and at such fast pace. God desires to make His mind known unto His own, even while others are in the dark and awaiting the worst (1 Thessalonians 5:1-9).
A people must know where all these events and happenings are leading the nations and the world!
It is also a time to look up to God for interventions in definite areas of need in our lives, as we take advantage of the corporate anointing at the conference.
