Libmark Committee meeting – Monday 2April 2007

Business Arising: Minutes Reviewed – Approved

  1. Seminar with Kevin Hennah
  • East Melbourne Library Community Room booked.
  • Cost now confirmed $150 for the day.
  • Investigating local caterers
  • Seats 50 comfortably in theatre style seating
  • Confirmed two sessions 4 May 2007

Actions:

  • Investigate local caterers. MB
  • Add workshop to the infonet/training calendar. MB

2. Forward Planning

MB Contacted Paula Kelly to discuss collaborative opportunities between SLV, Libmark and Victorian Public Libraries in future Reader Development activities.

Action:

  • SLV developing a Reader Development Strategy more information to follow.
  • Paula awaiting news regarding budget and future programs.
  • Shirley Prescott to attend May meeting on behalf of Paula Kelly.
  • Other Seminar ideas 2007 – deferred until next meeting

3. Viclink Executive Report

MB to attend and deliver a brief report to the Viclink Executive Committee on Monday 2 April. Items to be discussed include our proposed program for 2007 which includes the following;

  1. Two seminar/workshops
  2. Development of online listserv
  3. Development of collaborative projects between Libmark, other Viclink committees and possibly SLV.
  4. Participation in @yourlibrary teleconference hosted by ALIA

Action:

The following need to be agreed upon by the collective group at the next meeting and worked into the updated Libmark terms of reference/or action plan which will then be placed on infonet.

4. Terms of Reference Review

MB tabled 2005-2006 Libmark Terms of reference document. SM and MB have commenced making amendments to this document and will forward a draft document to all committee members shortly.

Action:

Draft document to be discussed at next meeting.

5. Listserv

Margherita to source instructions on how to update, edit and delete information on the listserv. Shauna and Margherita discussed possible topics that can be placed on listserv to generate interest and discussion amongst our current users.

Action:

  • Possible topics, links and documents for listserv to be brought along to next meeting.
  • Margherita to access instructions for maintenance of website.
  • Seek information about how we can cross post to other Viclink groups to recruit new members to our listserv.
