Network Change:
In the Calhoun Exchange (CLHNGAES / R9450) fiber feeder and DLC will be placed and existing services will be cut from the copper facilities feeding from the Central Office to the fiber fed DLC facilities. This will be done to clear the construction limits for three road moves. The widening of State Route 3 (South Wall St, US HWY 41) on Georgia Department of Transportation project PI #: 621365. And the intersection improvement at SR 3 (US HWY 41; S Wall St) and SR 53 (Belmont Dr) on Georgia Department of Transportation project PI #: 0007678 and PI #: 0007138.
Description of Type of Changes Planned: /
It is proposed to cut the existing copper feeder facilities to fiber fed DLC facilities at the following locations in the Calhoun, GA wirecenter:
Description of Reasonably Foreseeable Impact of the Planned Changes: /
After this work is completed, metallic feeder facilities from the Central Office to the effected area will no longer be available. Unbundled loops that are defined as compatible with Digital Loop Carrier (DLC), e.g., those defined to transport POTS-grade service, will be transferred to the new DLC system without consequence. Competitive carrier employing unbundled loops that are defined to require metallic facilities, e.g., Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) or line sharing circuits will be notified individually. At the time of this submittal, there are no circuits impacted in the geography affected by this notification. This notification is intended to allow the effective carrier to convert the circuit to one compatible with DLC. It should be noted that if a competitive carrier obtains an unbundled loop that has been defined to transport POTS-grade service, but then utilizes the POTS-grade to provide DSL service, AT&T has no knowledge of the presence of DSL. In such case, AT&T has no basis to notify the carrier and there will be no means to continue DSL service.
