Psalm 133:1– Lord, according to Your word, it is good and pleasant when Your children live together in unity. Father, give them godly friends at school with whom they are united. Provide friends who share the same beliefs and interests so that they will have strength in numbers to stand against the schemes and temptations of the Enemy.

.prayer concerns and joys
· Please remember to keep in prayer:
· Students and Teachers starting the school year
· Rev. Bruce Merritt
Please pray for Pastor Bruce Merritt as he was on vacation with his wife, Glenda, their son, and two grandchildren and suffered a bad fall. He was initially diagnosed with 7 broken ribs, broken shoulder blad, and a partially collapsed lung. A week later and still in severe pain, he was unable to hold himself up so a trip to another hospital showed his back was also broken in the fall. He had surgery and has no feeling from mid-chest down now. In the midst of this they believe he damaged his vocal chords as well. He also is dealing with blood clots. He is not home yet and it is not known when he will be. Please pray for him and the family. Cards may be sent to Bruce Merritt; 7387 River Pine Dr; Mechanicsville, VA 23111
· Jonathan Bogdewic – recent surgery
· Walt and Barb Hehman – Walt’s declining health.
· Tammy Hay, Connellsville District Administrative Assistant
· Pastors and churches in transition
· Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi and the WPA Cabinet
· Continued prayer for Rev Chance & Chelsea Kelosky family.

district news…..
Greetings!
About 20 people from United Methodist congregations in Lawrence County have had two conversations recently on the topic of sharing ministry. We have begun to look at what cooperation might mean in this area. These early discussions have focused on the mission (or purpose) God may be calling us to share.
A third “Conversation on Sharing Ministry” has been scheduled for Friday, September 29, 2017, at New Castle: First United Methodist Church. We will share a meal beginning at 5 PM. The meeting should start around 6 PM. Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi has been invited to be part of this conversation and is planning to attend.
You are invited, too. Please provide an approximate number of persons attending from each congregation. You may email this information to . Details about the meal will be announced later.
