Steve Necessary is vice president of video product development for Cox Communications. Steve leads Cox's overall video product strategy and oversees the conception, development and deployment of new video products and enhancements to fuel Cox's growth in the video market.
Prior to joining Cox in January, 2005, Steve served as president of the Video on Demand Division of Concurrent Computer Corporation. Previously, he spent more than 20 years with Scientific Atlanta and held several senior management positions in marketing and general management before becoming CEO of the company's PowerTV software subsidiary.
He is a member of Cable and Telecommuincations Association for Marketing (CTAM), the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and is a member and on the board of directors for Christians in Cable. He is an emeritus member of the board of the Atlanta Ballet and is active in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church.
Steve received a bachelor's degree in Engineering Economic Systems with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. Steve is married to the former Debbie Ragla and has three daughters, Kristi, Courtney and Abbie.
