JOB PURPOSE

To provide 1st line support to Stephenson Academy and Bridge Academy across four separate sites.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Help desk:

  • Management of the helpdesk by prioritising and handling support requests
  • Creation of helpdesk reports
  • Liaison with third party support companies to ensure timely resolution of issues and updates
  • Support will cover four separate sites across Milton Keynes and will require travel between the sites as required
  • Use of remote access software will be encouraged

Virtual Desktops:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V and virtual desktop/application delivery
  • Manage the day to day administration of the virtual desktop environment
  • Involvement with management of desktop images to support application requirements of staff
  • Familiarity with Group Policy management

User Maintenance

  • Create new staff and student users with required permissions within Active Directory
  • For new staff create email accounts within Exchange and set up printer codes for follow me printing
  • Update passwords as required
  • Disable and archive users when required

Hardware Repairs / Support

  • Carry out repairs on laptops – replacement of screens, keyboards, HDD
  • Monitor level of hardware available across classrooms and staff areas
  • Re-image hardware as required
  • Create updated hardware images as new hardware/requirements arise
  • Knowledge of cloning systems

Internet:

  • Manage the content filtering systems to maintain the appropriate limits to website access for users across all sites

VOIP:

  • Manage changes to the VOIP system:
  • Add new users/handsets
  • Configure and maintain system across all sites
  • Provide user training to maximise effective use of system.
  • Creation of monthly usage/costs reporting and detailed breakdown where required
  • Liaise with 3rd party supplier to resolve issues when they arise

Printing:

  • Maintenance of Follow me printing environment
  • Creation of monthly user reports and breakdown of detail where required.
  • Ensuring automatic toner refresh is actioned
  • Support of scan to e-mail functions

CCTV

  • Monitor operational capability of CCTV system across all sites
  • Liaise with 3rd party supplier to affect changes and fixes as required
  • Assist with creating video evidence to support the staff and students as requested by appropriate staff.

Website

  • Provide support to administrators for the updating of the Academy websites as required

Digital Signage:

  • Maintain the digital signage output within Stephenson Academy including daily updating as required
  • Plan extension of digital signage in line with budgets and requirements

Back-up/Recovery:

  • Monitor the back-up processes to ensure all required data is available
  • Provide file recovery to users as requested.

Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training
