I.D. Card Templates
to customize for your own use!
Here’s the original card I made forCarlianne. I printed it out onto light blue parchment cardstock, cut it out, and then laminated it! I used a Sears portrait, but it also works fine to get pictures of your child at various distances, in front of a plain wall. If you have a digital camera, or a friend who has one, that’s the easiest because you can just adjust the size of the photo itself instead of needing to get just the right distance to make the picture fit into the box on the card. In fact, it doesn’t have to actually fit INSIDE the box; just in the space allowed, which you can adjust by shortening the signature lines and font sizes. (Be sure to get the picture on before laminating! I’ll give you ONE guess why I might feel the need to tell you something so obvious!!! )
Here’s one card template for you to customize for your child. To change or customize anything, just double-click over the word you want to change (which willhighlight it), and then start typing your word! The font will then stay the same. If you want tochange the font, just double-click on your word, thenclick the down-arrow in the font box(it probably says Times New Roman right now. If you don’t know where it is,and want to find it, then click on one of these words that you are reading, and then lookup at the toolbar and find “Times New Roman.” Right next to it, in another smallbox,it should say “11” ~ that’s the size of the font.)and then startexperimentingwith thevarious fonts untilyou find one you like. (This one is “Card A” in case you need to refer back to it.)

Directions for how to color in the lines:
You can either color in the lines with your “school colors” using a felt pen,or you can do it right here in Word!
1) First, of course, decide on your school colors! (We let each of our three children choose ONE color.)
2) Nextposition your cursor inside the top line. (I had to increase my page-viewingsizeto 150%. To do this, find the white box at the top that has a % sign in it; clickon thedown-arrow next to that, and then click on 150%.)
3) Next, look at all the tool iconsat the top and find the one that’s a little paint cantippingto the right with a color bar under it. Right next to thatis a tiny triangle pointing down;click onthat and find thecolor you want to put in that top line, and click on it!
4) If you want to find a different color, you can click on “More Fill Colors” at the very bottom of that color chart, and play with that until you find one you like. (If you click on anyof the honeycomb-shaped colorspotsin that hexagon, and then click on the “Custom” tab at the top, you will then see a bar ofcolors ranging from lightest (almost-but-not-quite white) at the top of the bar, allthe way down to black at the bottom; move that black triangle (which is the color selector) up or down to point tothe shade you want, andthen click on it! And then click “OK”! You will probably end up doing this a few times until you find the exact one you like because they look different once in the bar!)
Here are three other templates with various fonts and lines:

If I have forgotten anything, or anything is wrong, please email
me (at ) and let me know!
NOTE TO THE OVERWHELMED! If all this just totally overwhelms you, and you just want me to make it for you, (with you getting the customized-by-me document from me, (you) printing it out, adding your own taken-by-you photo, and laminating it yourself; in other words, I would just do the computer work), I can do that for youfor a fee. Email me and we’ll discuss it. It’ll depend on how much time it takes to come up with something you like. If you are easy to please and I can do it quickly, it would cost $5 for one card; if it takes a lot of going back and forth, with adjusting specifications, it could cost up to $20.)
