MWSL Board Meeting Minutes

Time: 6:30-7:30 pm

Location: Minnesota Thunder Office, St. Paul

Members Present: Kim Anderson, Beth Baber, Jessica Hiveley, Lori Kaufman,Wendy Miller, Karissa Richardson, Chauntae Ruppe

  1. Update from MN Thunder Ticket Sales Representative—Adam Bandimere
  2. MN Thunder would like to offer MWSL discounts for the season
  3. Adam will send us details via e-mail
  4. MWSL Night with the Thunder—June 27th is the date for this event
  5. Adam will send a PDF schedule to Kim and the schedule will be added to the MWSL website.
  6. MN Thunder will also sponsor 2 season opener discount nights: May 2 and May 29
  1. Commissioner Report—Kim Anderson
  2. Fields: the number and availability of fields is looking very good for the summer.
  3. Registration for summer closed on March 29.
  4. Field assignment will be complete within the next couple weeks.
  5. Team Registration—61 teams total
  6. 21 Division 1 teams
  7. 14 Division 2 teams
  8. 30 Division 3 teams (10 in D3A, 10 in D3B)
  9. 6 Division 4 teams
  10. Kim will be sending an e-mail to team managers to confirm division placement prior to making the schedule for the season.
  11. Field cost is still TBD.
  12. Player Pass Cards—issue of using player pass cards was discussed at AGM
  13. Karissa Richardson will send an e-mail to all team managers to verify that there is still consensus to use the player pass cards this season.
  14. Kim Anderson will be preparing team/player letters for the season.
  15. Protrack will be completing and sending team binders to managers.

  3. This issue is not resolved and the function is not working
  4. Kim Anderson will e-mail Glenn and Oliver to request this be fixed and completed.
  5. Password change function is altering status of players, so Kim Anderson will contact Glenn and Oliver about this issue, as well.
  1. Treasurer Report—Jessica Hiveley
  2. 61 teams are registered to play this summer 2009 session
  3. Jessica will be updating final registration and determining final numbers for the next meeting.

  2. MWSL Clinic with the Gophers
  3. Chauntae Ruppe is attempting to confirm the tentative May 9 clinic date with Gopher Coach Mikki Denney-Wright.
  4. Location and date are still TBD
  5. Gophers still did not cash check #5342, which was our donation for 2008.

  2. Website and Database Administration—Beth Baber has offered to serve in this role!
  3. Merchandise Coordinators—Wendy Miller and Emma Getty have offered to serve in this role!
  1. Odds and Ends
  2. Open Play Nights—the survey from 2008 indicated an interest in open play nights during the summer. Right now, the league is considering two Thursday night open play nights (one in June and another in July) depending on field availability.
  3. Business Renewal Form—Lori Kaufman will complete this form on the MN Secretary of State Website.
  4. ID number for League: 1308014-2
  5. Risk Management—Karissa is still waiting to receive the final verbiage from the document coordinator with the MSA regarding Risk Management Policies.
