Quidditch for Literacy is supporting charities that advocate childhood literacy and education (Firstbook and Reading is Fundamental). More info can be found at the following websites: and With your help we can get kids their first books and encourage a love for reading. Donations strongly welcome.
About:
Quidditch for Literacy will be a modified Swiss Style tournament with cut to top 4. Each team will play a minimum of 2 games. In case of a tie an overtime will be added. The game is over when the Snitch is caught or in 3 minutes whichever one happens first. Those who score the most points in the overtime is the winner. Consequently the snitch will be constricted to the Quidditch Pitch. The records of each team in the bracket shall reflect the top 4 cut. In case of a record tie, the point totals will be used as a tie breaker. If such a tie should occur then a 3 minute game will be played similar to the overtime game. The winner of the tournament will get a place on the perpetual trophy that will be available for display and other prizes(TBD).
When/Where:
The tournament will be held April 18th from 12-6 on the Black Intramural Fields (Airport and State). Teams should check in from 12 to 12:45. Games will start at 1pm or earlier if all teams are checked in. Purdue Intercollegiate Quidditch Association will provide all necessary equipment to play Quidditch. Try to have team shirts made. On April 17th there will be Quidditch pick up games all day. There will be other announced dates of where your team can hone your skills once you are registered.
