Two $1,000 Scholarships for 2017
Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative is offering two $1,000 general scholarships.
Guidelines
1. The applicant or the dependent applicant’s parent/guardian is currently receiving electric service from Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative at their residence, is a member of Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative and is not an employee or board member. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
2. The applicant must be a student who is enrolled or planning to enroll in a full time course of study at an accredited two-year college, vocational or technical school for
the upcoming fall term.
3. Scholarships are based on the following criteria:
Leadership - including school and community activities, awards, honors 50%
and work experience
Academic achievement - grade-point average and SAT or ACT scores 25%
Personal statement of 250 words about how your leadership, school and
community activities will influence your career goals 25 %
4. The completed scholarship application is due to the YVEC office by March 17, 2017. The decision will be made with notification to the student. If the recipient is a graduating senior, the school will announce the name at graduation or an award’s assembly.
