o A paper titled Improving the Efficiency of Low-Level Decision Making in Robosoccer using Boosted SVM submitted by Mr Praveen Chandrasekaran, IV Year IT along with Prof R Muthucumaraswamy has been accepted to the special session New Challenges in Applied Intelligence Technologies of "The Twenty First International Conference on Industrial, Engineering & other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems IEA-AIE 2008", Wroclaw University, Poland.
o This will be subsequently published in an edited volume of the Springer Series Studies in Computational Intelligence.

D.Sugnathi and Karishma Surana won first prize for presenting a paper entitled “RFID Data Security and Authentiation” in OZMENTA’08 of Velammal Engineering College on 09 th September 2008.
Aug 2008:
R. Abirami published a paper entitled “Resource Monitoring in Grid” in Proc. of IEEE International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology(ICETET’08), India, 2008
Ravi Shankar and N.Purvaja won second prize for presenting a paper entitled “Temperature control in Dry type transformer using Fuzzy logic” in The Seventh Sense of SRM University on 28 th and 29 th August 2008.

Feb 2009:
R. Sindhuja won third prize for presenting a paper entitled “Designated Verifier Signatures” IN ASTHRA 09 of Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College on 17 th Feb 2009.
July 2009:
The Association of Information Technologists (AIT) for the Academic Year 2009-10 was inaugurated by Mr Anjan Annamanei, Director, Franklin Templeton, Chennai on 24th of July 2009 and he gave a presentation of "Software Testing - An Overview"
Sep 2009:
The Technical Symposium Protocol 12e was conducted on 2nd September 2009, Mr. Prabal Mall vice president Expertus Limited presided over the Inaugural Function and he delivered a lecture on the topic "Green Computing
Mr.Sebastian HOD/IT Swineburn University Australia delivered a guest lecture on the topic "Software Testing " on 11th September 2009.
Three days workshop on Database2 (DB2-2009) was conducted by IBM Resource persons for students from Circuit branches and MCA on 12th, 13th and 14th Sep 2009.
Aug 2009:
Mr.Subramani Ramakrishna Sr.Manager IBM india delivered a guest lecture on the topic "Smarter Planet" on 4th August 2009.
Varshini Sreethar of IT Department 3rd Year participated in the Dr A L Mudaliar Oratorical Contest, 2009 organized by the Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and won the second place with a cash award of Rs 2500. Students from all over TamilNadu, both Arts and Science & Engineering colleges took part in this contest.

1. Varshini Sreethar has taken part in numerous Sports Events in the Intra-Murals in track events, games and field events and won the following prizes:
a) 1st place 4x100 M Relay
b) 2nd place in 8x100 M
c) 3rd place Discus Throw
d) 3rd place in Shot-put
e) 3rd place in Volley Ball
