A RESOLUTION memorializing Ben Randolph Damron.

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron was a native son of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, born in Lincoln County and residing in Stanford at the time of his passing on June 23, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron matriculated from the University of Kentucky securing both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from that institution; and

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron dedicated his life to the pursuit of education, from educating the young men and women returning to their homeland of the United States of America from the ravages of World War II, in which he, himself, served his country in the Army Air Corps, to teaching the students at Stanford and Lincoln County High Schools; and

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron was rewarded with accolades from the Future Farmers of America and the National Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association for his superlative works; and

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron was an active member of the Stanford Christian Church; and

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron also dedicated his time to Lincoln Lodge No. 60 Free & Accepted Masons, as well as dedicating time to the Lincoln County Retired Teachers Association; and

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron was the loving husband of Jane Raney Damron; and

WHEREAS, Ben Randolph Damron was the beloved father of Robert R. Damron, a valued and long-time member of this honorable body; he was the beloved father of Mary Ann Hirschler; and he was the proud grandfather of Robert Paul Damron;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby recognize that Ben Randolph Damron's lifelong pursuit of education is one of the noblest endeavors one can embark upon and that he executed his profession in a most excellent way, and that it is fitting and proper that this body honor his work thusly.

Section 2. The House of Representatives offers its most profound and sincere condolences to the friends and family of Ben Randolph Damron on the event of his passing and furthermore extends its sympathy specifically to Robert R. Damron, a senior member of this honorable body.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit three copies of this Resolution to Representative Robert R. Damron, Room 351A, Capitol Annex, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
