Departmental Achievements / Department was accredited for 3 years with effect from 27th July 2006 by the National Board of Accreditation. Pass Percentage of 92-95% is maintained in the last five years. So far 4 students have secured University First Ranks (GOLD MEDAL), 1 student second rank and 46 students from 3rd to 20th Ranks in the last 9 years. The Department has been granted 39.1 Lakhs for 4 MODROBS by AICTE so far.

Departmental Achievements / The Department has conducted its first National level one day workshop on ‘Advances in Concrete Technology and Sustainable Materials’ on 18th October 2012. A total of 100 participants have attended the workshop and three key note presentations were given by the expert members. Apart from academics the students were encouraged to take active participation both in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Many students have presented papers in various symposium/Seminar and workshops conducted by other colleges. The department has organized the technical symposium in association with Civil Engineers Association of our college in the month of August 2012 and many students from other colleges have participated in various events and won prizes.

SVCE-ACM chapter was appreciated by ACM India as the outstanding chapter in its Newsletter, MemberNet India released on February 9th, 2012 . ACM Student Chapter has organized a National Level Programming Contest (NLPC) which attracted 491 students from 46 institutions .The chapter was one among the 5 collaborating institutes in Asia to host the Asia Level Programming Contest (ALPC)
Sarath Chandar A P,(2008-2012batch) was selected as one of the student scholars to attend the ACMALANTURING CENTENARY CELEBRATION held at San Francisco during June 15 and 16, 2012 with full funding.
Sivaranjani S,Final Year student was invited to present a poster on “Efficient Representation of Smart Environments” at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing held at Baltimore,Maryland,USA from October 3rd to October 6th 2012 with Google scholarship.
