A meeting of the Student Government Senatewill be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at California State University Channel Islands, Student Union Conference Room (room 1080), located at One University Drive, Camarillo, CA 93012, to consider and act upon the following matters:

- Holding yourself to higher standards at all times, especially when wearing polo or other items showing that you represent student government

- Senators Ewing, Fernandez, Heim and Hunt could all use the help of an intern… they are to be contacted by Chief Christopher
- Student Government Involvement - President Noyes and Vice President Pelayo (30 minutes)
- Why did you join student government?
- Wanted to be involved at CI
- Wanted to help other students to get involved at CI
- Wanted to be in the center of the growth at CI, especially as it grows
- CI is a blank slate and they want to help guide the “CI way”
- Liked the positive change that being involved had on her attitude
- Wanted to help all students and to change the backbone of CI
- Realized that student government helps students in a “behind the scenes” kind of way and was intrigued by that
- Wanted to help bridge the gap between students and admins; wanted to help the students to realize that there are people in high positions that want to hear about their opinions
- By seeing how much people cared, it inspired them to want to care too
- Having a larger voice on campus intrigued them, wanted to be able to help other students
- The speed in which SG got back to students made them even more interested
- Project Brainstorming – President Noyes and Vice President Pelayo (45 minutes)
- Academic advisor that is for seniors only, possible winter sessions, changes (reduced cost) during summer classes, academic advising should try and stagger their hours so that more students can see them possibly at later times
- Having events that are geared to help certain majors
- Tabling randomly in front of the student union simply to talk to students and make sure that know we care
- Using the community garden that is to be made to help provide students that are in need offood
- Composting bins project that went on last year can be passed onto Chief Christopher to assign to an intern
- Director Mena and Senator Fernandez will work with the CI view to represent CI at City Council meetings as well as routinely meet with local government officials
- Look into carpooling options, possibly creating a carpooling sticker and a carpool only lot
- Possibly revoking parking privileges for freshman housing students that get caught drinking, possibly banning all parking privileges for housing students
- Parking privileges is something that the majority of student government would like to talk about as a discussion item at a future meeting
- Possibly create a committee for all parking issues
- Better communication is needed between parking services and HRE
- Senator Heim is going to talk to the RA for outdoor adventures and healthy lifestyles living learning community so that they can use the #FITCI
- Senator Ewing will use Prezi to create an informational presentation to inform the clubs
- Idea of creating an introduction video to introduce SG that is similar to “Friends” introduction

- Senator Altman looking into childcare for the DDP
- Senator Fernandez began office hours and will be helping with an event for Sex Education week the week of October 10th, trying to get samples of feminine products
- Senator Heim let surf rider foundation (also a sports club) be aware of the greenovation grant
- Senator Sailor waiting on the alumni relations to get back to her regarding donations
- Senator Hunt spoke about all of his current projects above

- Going to mobile food pantry this Friday – President Noyes, Director Mena and Senator Sailor are all going

- Has meeting with Dean Deboni – Vice President Pelayo will be attending too
