Riding Lessons and Rates
With nearly 30 years of experience teaching children and adults, our riding lesson programs are geared with safety and learning as the key ingredients. Learning should be fun! We strive to have our students enjoy riding while developing self-confidence, discipline, teamwork and responsibility.
Orientation Lesson: The first lesson for all of our students, this one hour lesson is designed to introduce students to the facility, tack and equipment, safe handling, grooming and correct mounting up and dismounting from their horse or pony. Orientations are geared towards the age and level of the student and may include walk, trot and canter for experienced riders.

Introduction to Ponies: For our youngest riders, ages 3 through 6 years of age, Lead line lessons give your child their first introduction to riding and lessons. Your instructor will lead your child on the horse or pony andmake sure your child is safe and comfortable throughout their lesson. The lesson is 30 minutes and includes giving your child the opportunity to groom and pet the pony before riding. Please call us in advance to schedule your Lead Line lesson.

Beginning Child Riders: For children ages 6 years through 12, students learn how to ask the horse to move into a walk or trot, how to steer through turns and changes of direction, and how to post the trot as they practice good position in the saddle. These lessons are designed to teach your child basic riding skills in a safe and secure environment.All students practice grooming and tacking up skills as well as how to put their horse away with each lesson.

Consider lessons twice each week. Students advance quickly as you save $10.00 per lesson over the once a week plan. Like any sport, with more practice, the more rapidly your child can advance and excel.
Teen and Adult Lessons: We love to introduce the sport of Hunt Seat Riding and welcome teens and adults into our lesson program. Students will learn how to groom and tack up their horse and will then join us in the Indoor Riding Arena for a 30-minute private lesson. Our students progress rapidly as they learn safe basic position, the fundamentals of moving the horse forward, steering and coordinating the seat, legs, hands and voice aids. Teen and Adult lessons can be either private, semi-private or group at the discretion of your instructor. Students are taught to walk, trot and canter, ride in a full seat, light seat and two point. Introductory dressage is introduced as well as work over ground poles at the trot and canter.
