We have reserved 75 rooms at the Four Points Sheraton across the river from the Parliament buildings in Gatineau. The address is 35 Rue Laurier in Gatineau. You can reserve your rooms by calling the Four Points at 1-888-627-8089 and tell them you are part of the reservation for The Royal Canadian Dragoons Association. The room rate is $159 per night plus applicable taxes. Reservations need to be made by 1 May 2018 or we will lose the room block. I suggest you make your reservations as early as possible.
We will start the weekend with a meet and greet Friday night at the Four Points Sheraton at 1900 (cash bar), followed by our Association meeting Saturday morning at 0900 in the same location. Saturday afternoon will be an opportunity to visit some of the sights our national capital has to offer. We will have information on Parliament tours, the War Museum, the Canadian Mint, the National Art Gallery and the Museum of Civilization As I mentioned in my first update you can also just relax and visit the restaurants and the bistros of the Byward Market or hit the shopping Mecca of downtown Ottawa.
The highlight of the weekend besides our association meeting, will be a four hour dinner cruise on the Ottawa River on board the Ottawa River Queen. You will want to be back to the hotel by 1800 for the departure of a dinner cruise on the scenic Ottawa River. The cost per person for the weekend besides your hotel is $100 (this includes the cruise and dinner).
