MEDICAL STAFF COORDINATOR-SENIOR
The Medical Staff Coordinator supports the medical staff departments/committees as required by The Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies. The position is also responsible for credentialing/privileging functions, call schedule preparation and distribution, as well as meeting minutes.Provides highly skilled support via liaison representation to committees, medical staff departments, physicians, and other hospital personnel. Performs administrative tasks and supports the Director in program implementation and process changes pertaining to regulatory and accreditation compliance, and resource utilization.
Requires 3 - 5 years experience in medical staff services.Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or comparableexperience and knowledge in medical staff services.
Medical Staff Services provides administrative support to the Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix Medical Staff and facilitates communication related to medical staff matters. Responsibilities include assisting with regulatory compliance, credentialing, peer review, committees, and maintaining current governing documents of the Medical Staff and Allied Health Staff, (ie Policies, Bylaws, Rules and Regulations). Department staff also acts as a liaison to the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix. Medical Staff Services is currently staffed by a Director, Manager, Senior Coordinators and a Senior Administrative Assistant.
