Vaccinations/Registering with the College GP

The College has an arrangement with the Doctors at the 19 Beaumont Street surgery to provide medical cover for our students. Further information about the 19 Beaumont Street Surgery can be found on the College’s Freshers 2016-17 Weblearn site:( )
You can register with the surgery if you are a full time student who will be living in Oxford. If you are studying in the UK for less than 6 months then you can access healthcare privately (charges apply).

If you are a full time student and are already registered with a GP locally or if you are a part time Home/EU student and are not living in Oxford we suggest you remain registered with your local doctor. If you believe you should receive the vaccination you should contact the surgery at which you are registered to see if they are able to offer the vaccination to you in the first instance.
Are you eligible to receive the Meningitis ACWY Vaccination?
- You are aged 25 or below
- You have not already had the vaccination, either at a previous GP practice or as a travel vaccination
If you are ineligible to receive the vaccination you may be able to have it privately, please note this would be at your own cost.
When should you not have the Meningitis ACWY Vaccine?
You should not have the Men ACWY vaccine if you are allergic to the vaccine or any of its ingredients. You can find out the vaccine ingredients in the patient information leaflets for Nimenrix( )and Menveo (
You should also check with the doctor or nurse before having the Men ACWY vaccine if you:
- have a bleeding problem, such as haemophilia, or bruise easily
- have a high temperature
- are pregnant or breastfeeding

Flu vaccinations
- Flu vaccinations can also be provided at the clinic for students who are in an at risk group. This is identified from your registration forms which you may have completed beforehand online or are completing on the day.
Important Information about the session
- No other vaccinations will be given
- There will NOT be an opportunity for confidential medical consultations
