VAN2017 SPONSORS LEVERAGING WORKSHOP

Van2017 Pacific Games Organizing committee met with the Pacific Mini Games sponsors this morning, Thursday 4th May 2017 at Holiday Inn in Port Vila for an intensive Sponsor Leveraging Workshop.

In his opening remark, Mark Stafford as Chairman of Van2017 Board said “this opportunity is to give sponsors an update on the preparations of the Van2017 team, as we count down to 200 days from now until the 4th of December.” He assured the ten Van2017 sponsors that preparations are progressing strongly, with the generous support of the Government of Vanuatu and thanked them for their valuable contribution towards the Games.

Among sponsors who were present at the briefing wereShaun Gilchrist and Yael Sakker from Azure Pure Water, Paul Pio from Air Vanuatu, Simon Douthett and Seema Goundar from Holiday Inn Vanuatu, Calvin Fitzpatrick from FR8/DHL, Arthur Knight representing Capitol FM107, Florence Bellon fromDigicel, Olaf De Ceuster owner of ODC Computers and Bernard Munbode from Hertz.

Through an intensive Presentation, the Van2017 Pacific Mini GamesCEO Clint Flood gave an overview of the role of Van2017 which is to deliver the sports program and associated operations and ceremonies for the Games, coordinating the other 24 Teams involvement, and selling and marketing the Games through sponsorship, merchandising, and ticketing. He stated VASANOC delivers the athletes/team officials for Vanuatu and helps coordinate the National Sport Federations in delivering the Games sports programs. The Vanuatu Government delivers the venues, provides core funding, legislation, and essential services such as security, immigration, airport operations and medical.

Sponsors were given an update on various areas of Venues, Villages, Game Services, staffing, volunteers program, sponsorship, Broadcasting, Sport Program, Public Ticketing, Sponsor Ticketing, Ticketing program, Media sponsorship opportunities, Champions Education program, Environment program, Nasi and the SAGOA Program.

It was an opportunity for Van2017 Pacific Game Committee, through Executive Director of Marketing & Communications Derryn De Ceuster to announce Van2017 planning and communications strategies, and how the Van2017 Team would be able to assist with Sponsor promotions and events.

As part of the program, Van2017 Organizing committee was pleased to officially announce that Music annual event “FestNapuan” will be the highlight during the Games, and will stage its annual concert at the Korman Complex in Port Vila which normally takes place in October each year.

CEO Flood said that Van2017 is excited to partner with such a fantastic Music Event that showcases the talented Vanuatu and Pacific artists.

Mr Flood acknowledged the trust the Fest’ Napuan Committee has in Van2017 and looks forward to making the Games and Music Festival exciting and memorable for Vanuatu and the Pacific region for years to come.
