Deaths

Sexual Assaults
1. (Final) An O-2 was charged with multiple sexual assaults. At trial held the week of 10-14 April 2017, the accused was found guilty and sentenced to a dismissal and 20 years of
confinement.
2. An E-4 reported that an E-5 touched her over the clothing on the buttocks in September 2016.
(Final) Upon RLSO recommendation, CO imposed NJP - 30 days restriction and extra duties, RIR.
3. On 15 April 2017, an E-5 reported to a victim advocate that she had been sexually assaulted (contact) by an E-4 while in the gym. NCIS investigation initiated.
4. An E-5 reported that she was the subject of numerous unwanted touchings by an E-5 in her berthing and around the command. The incidents allegedly occurred in November 2016.
(Final) RLSO review of case complete, recommending no charges. CO and SJA concur. Alleged offender was counseled on appropriate behavior.
5. An E-1 allegedly sexually assaulted (contact) a USGC E-4 in April 2017. Alleged victim is in the process of filing a report with NCIS.
6. An E-3 reported to her LPO that she woke up in an unknown residence on 15 April 2017, had no recollection of the previous evening's events, and believes she was sexually assaulted.
The servicemember made a report to local police, investigation ongoing with NCIS supporting.

Suicide Related Behavior
1. An E-2 expressed depressed mood to a shipmate on 17 April 2017 and was escorted to medical. After evaluation by command medical, the servicmember was transported to an MTF for
further evaluation.
2. An E-5 self-reported suicidal ideations to command medical on 19 April 2017. He was transported to an MTF for treatment.
3. An E-4 reported to an MTF expressing suicidal ideations on 21 April 2017 and was admitted for treatment.
4. An E-7 was observed on social media on 20 April 2017 attempting to harm herself by taking an unknown amount of pills. Local police responded and found servicemember safe;
however, they transported her to the hospital for an evaluation.
5. An E-4 reported to an MTF on 19 April 2017 that she had engaged in suicide related behavior. She was admitted for examination.
6. An E-5 was found by his roommate on 18 April 2017, unresponsive on the floor with a prescription medication bottle nearby. Paramedics responded and the servicemember was
admitted to the hospital for observation.
7. 10. An E-3 called his LPO on 17 April 2017 and told him that he was thinking about harming himself. The LPO called emergency services and remained on the phone with the
servicemember until help arrived. Servicemember was transported to a medical facility and admitted for evaluation.
Alcohol/Drug Related Incidents
1. An E-3 was arrested by base police on 17 April 2017 after being stopped at the main gate for smelling like alcohol. The servicmember refused to take a breathalyzer test. Initial court
appearance was scheduled for 21 April 2017.
2. An E-3 was pulled over by local police for speeding on 15 April 2017. Breathalyzer results indicated a BAC of 0.09, and the servicemember was arrested for driving while intoxicated, open
container, speeding, and lack of registration. Hearing scheduled for 26 April 2017.
3. An E-3 was pulled over by state police on 23 April 2017 and arrested for driving under the influence. Breathalyzer results indicated a BAC of 0.12. Court scheduled for 26 April 2017.
4. An E-4 was found by local police in a parking lot asleep with his vehicle running on 23 April 2017. Breathalyzer results indicated a BAC of 0.191. Servicemember was arrested for driving
under the influence.
5. An E-7 passed a field sobriety test, but failed a breathalyzer test during a random gate stop on 22 April 2017. He was arrested by base police for driving under the influence.
6. An E-4 was pulled over by base police on 22 April 2017 and arrested for driving while intoxicated. Breathalyzer results indicated a BAC of 0.17.
7. An E-3 was arrested by base police on 20 April 2017 for driving while intoxicated. Breathalyzer results indicated a BAC of 0.10.
8. An E-5 was arrested by base police after striking a barrier while approaching an ECP on 21 April 2017. Breathalyzer administered, and service member was over the legal limit.
9. (Final) An E-3 appeared in court for driving while intoxicated and was found guilty and awarded 90 days in jail (suspended).
