FREEDOM OF INFORMATION – APPLICATION REFERENCE 2017/19
Thank you for your application under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("the Act") in relation to diesel fuelled generators within Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.
The request is:
- How many diesel fuelled generators do you have as either primary, back-up or mobile solutions?
- What is the output rated power for each unit purchase and or in operation?
- If known was there a consideration to the carbon foot print of the generators at the time of purchase?
- What was the per generator capital cost for each diesel fuelled generator made in the last 10 years?
- What are you operating costs and maintenance regimes for these devices?
- Do you have issues with their reliability or performance?
- What is the expected replacement plan for diesel fuelled generatorscurrently deployed inservice?
- Are you considering opting for an alternative solution such as hydrogen fuelled generators (Fuel Cell technology)?
- What would be theprinciple replacementcriteria if any when you planned to replace the current diesel fuelled generators?
- Arethere any know regulations orpending legislation that will impact yourdecision to purchase an alternativeenvironmental clean: zeroemissionand low noise solution?

- What is the output rated power for each unit purchase and or in operation?
See attached spreadsheet.
- If known was there a consideration to the carbon foot print of the generators at the time of purchase?
We do not hold this information.
- What was the per generator capital cost for each diesel fuelled generator made in the last 10 years?
We do not hold this information as the units were procured more than 10 years ago or were part of a larger building projects where it is not possible to isolate individual components.
- What are you operating costs and maintenance regimes for these devices?
We do not hold this information. They are covered by maintenance contracts, but operating costs will be made up of a number of additional components and we don’t collate that information.
- Do you have issues with their reliability or performance?
These are covered by maintained contracts that ensure they are operating correctly.
- What is the expected replacement plan for diesel fuelled generatorscurrently deployed inservice?
We do not hold this information.
- Are you considering opting for an alternative solution such as hydrogen fuelled generators (Fuel Cell technology)?
We do not hold this information.
- What would be theprinciple replacementcriteria if any when you planned to replace the current diesel fuelled generators?
We do not hold this information.
- Arethere any know regulations orpending legislation that will impact yourdecision to purchase an alternativeenvironmental clean: zeroemissionand low noise solution?
We do not hold this information.
