Minutes

Call to Order at 7:30 PM

Approval of Minutes: Motion to accept by Corey Cruz, seconded by David Seidel, motion passed.

Introductions: Helen Collins and Katrina Benitez – presented information from New Mexico Central Reservations. Also Dan Ballou name was given out as a contact with the ACVB and how he could help give a Hotel Rebate to clubs hosting tournaments.

Reports

President:

·  Roster size for Tournaments – Request from NMYSA for DCSL to raise our limits – He suggested that control remain with the clubs.

·  Recruitment of Players – please STOP

·  Working on a team to team transfer form to be used with teams within the same club

Gaylord Sheppard:

·  Projecting between 210 and 220 teams

·  Would like to look at the possibility of moving the U13’s to the second weekend in the future. Staff to bring back information to the November meeting

Sandia Cup:

·  Reviewed the minutes of the 9/15/08 Sandia Cup meeting. (See Attached)

·  Discussed and approved the following:

o  Duke City Staff duties:

§  Prepare the schedule

§  Maintain the Sandia Cup Web Site

§  Work with both venues on number of fields and how they are to be lined

§  Be the contact point with ABQ Direct Inc for hotels to be used

§  Use the finds for the collection of parking fees and Hotel Rebates to pay the rental fee at BFP, DCSL membership dues at the complex and 3rd day rental fee at the complex

§  Be the contact with the Mexican Referee Federation

§  Be the contact to order and purchase the Indian Pots to be used

o  Would like to advertise for and look at hiring a marketing person to help with this Tournament

Management Report: Bill Nordin

Venues:

State Farm Soccer Complex:

·  State Farm is the new sponsor

·  Flying Star now has a billboard at the complex

·  First 5 weeks pretty smooth

·  Weak refereeing

·  Week 6 – rain caused the complex to shut down at 1:45 pm

ADO:

·  New sod took and it looks a lot better than it did last summer

·  Problems with have team – certified referees. Look for staff to have new plans in November

Balloon Fiesta Park:

·  Is offline until February

·  Will be closed for about 2 weeks in April

Registration:

·  Went well.

·  A meeting was held with Ron , Bill and all of the club registrars to follow up on fall registration and put procedures in place for transfers and house players

Practice Locations:

·  Whenever possible please try to get along with each other
