Comments on WC #10 Summary Document

·  General Comments

o  Subjectiveness of some topic areas need clarity

o  What exactly are the recommendations for training?

·  Introduction

o  No comments

·  Section I

o  Confusion surrounding the context of the words ‘certify’ and ‘certification’

o  Need to reframe these ideas

o  Program will not be an accredited course (for instance by ANCI) but will be recognized

·  Section II

o  Title should be changed to reflect new definitions of certification/certify

o  “Challenges to Implementation of Recognized Curriculum”

·  Section III

o  Title also needs to reflect change of definitions

o  “Who Will Be Issued Certificates of Course Completion”

o  Need to clarify ‘other individuals’ as:

§  No one prohibited from taking course, open to all, not just listed here

§  We are assuming these are the entities that may be required by FSMA

o  Trainers also might include private consultants

o  We must have confidence that the Train the Trainer programs are training a cadre of qualified individuals

o  Who provides training is being discussed in WC’s 7-9

·  Section IV

o  No Comments

·  Section V

o  Applicants who would like to hold training courses must have completed the PSA Train-the-Trainer course

o  We need measurable recommendations that these individuals can demonstrate knowledge

o  WC believes that PSA is reasonable entity to provide the recordkeeping, approval, and maintenance of this program, although AFDO was also suggested

·  Recommendations

o  1- Modules are a good idea for flexibility

o  2- None

o  3- need to be based on metrics

·  Action Items – Review second draft of summary document once released

·  Proposed dates for next conference call: Wednesday Feb. 1st
