I am a highly experienced Captain, with many long distance and ocean passages under my belt, including a 5-year trip around the world. I have spent the majority of my life on the sea, and am a professional and hard working individual, with good crew and boat management skills. I plan to advance to Master 500 and Engineering AEC & MEOL in the near future.
Experience:
April 2011 – Nov 2011 Captain, M/Y Astralium (Lowland 32.2m)
Astralium was a privately owned yacht. We cruised Mallorca, Ibiza, Italy & France. My responsibilities onboard included- Smooth operation of the vessel, crew management, hiring of crew & safe navigation of up to 10 guests.
May 2010 – Mar 2011 Captain/Engineer. M/Y Broadway (Warren 27m)
Broadway was a solely private yacht that I took from Florida to the Caribbean. My responsibilitles onboard included accounting, engineering, maintenance of all systems and upkeep of the exterior.
Mar 2009 – Apr 2010 Captain/Engineer. S/Y Oceana (Oyster 25m)
During my time on Oceana, I took the yacht through the Caribbean, up the East Coast of the US to Canada & back through the Caribbean. I completed the Oyster Regatta in Antigua during Apr 09 and the Antigua Charter Show in Dec 09. The yacht held up to 6 guests and 3 crew.
Apr 2007 –Feb 2009Captain/Engineer. S/Y Melite (Nereids 24m)
I joined the boat for the last 3 months of the build.
The yacht was based in the south of France in the summer season for charter and promotion, taking up to 8 guests and 4 crewmembers. In the winter seasons the yacht was delivered back to turkey 4 times for yard work.
Feb 2007 (Delivery)2nd Officer/Watch keeper. M/Y Calixe (Feadship 57m)
I was employed to help deliver Calixe from Antibes, France to Rotterdam, Netherlands.
During this time I completed watch-keeping duties and took part in emergency drills.
June 2006- Oct 2006 Captain. M/Y RoVA D (Falcon 30m) Seasonal Contract
I captained RoVA D, with 4 other crewmembers, for the summer charter season.
The yacht took up to 10 charter guests to Corsica, Sardinia, Italy and the Cote D’Azur.
Mar 2006- June 2006Captain/Engineer. M/Y Starlight of London (Princess 21m) Temporary Contract
I prepared the yacht for the charter season, and took the owners on their holiday around the Cote D’Azur.
This yacht took up to 8 guests and 2 crewmembers.

June 2005- Aug 2005Captain/Engineer. M/Y Bella Luna (Azimut Jumbo 30m) Temporary Contract
During the 2 months spent working on this company boat (we were employed through our previous employer- Benetti), it was used to accommodate prospective Azimut/ Benetti clients in Italy, Corsica and Sardinia.
Apr 2005- Jun 2005 S/Y Northern Monkey. My wife and I sailed our boat from Boston, USA,across the Atlantic to Spain via the Azores.
June 2003- Feb 2005Captain. M/Y Tradition (Benetti 30m)
Tradition was used for Boat Shows, Promotions & Private charters on both sides of the Atlantic. I spent 3 ½ months overseeing the build prior to launch. During this time I worked with the owner to decide on any necessary changes. As the Captain, I was responsible for the smooth running of the boat, hiring the four crew members and navigation with up to 12 guests. I worked alongside Benetti, for the management requirements of Tradition. The yacht cruised Italy, France, Caribbean and Florida.
Apr 2002- Apr 2003Captain/Engineer. S/Y Deep Blue (CNB 23m)
Deep Blue spent time in both the Mediterranean and Caribbean for the charter seasons, taking six guests. While in the Caribbean we took part in the Antigua Boat Show 2002. The boat was run with two members of crew. My job included the maintenance of all systems onboard and looking after the exterior of the boat. During the year spent on Deep Blue, two Atlantic crossings were completed; with myself as Captain.
Mar- Apr 2002Captain/Engineer. S/Y Daisy George (Moody 12m)
I took charge of the four week refit needed to prepare Daisy George for day chartering. This included GRP work, varnishing and the complete overhaul of the main engine.
The day charters were for Tapestry holiday guests; (up to 6 per day) to the surrounding bays and towns in South Turkey.

I was employed to complete two yacht deliveries, one being a 33ft sailing yacht delivered from Lagos, Portugal to Cabo Roig, Spain. The second delivery was a 43ft motor boat delivered from Torrevieja, Spain to Cork, Ireland.
Mar– Aug 2001Captain. S/Y Windhunter (Finot open sixty 18m)
Windhunter was entered in many races during my time as Skipper onboard. The boat was also used by the owner to cruise around the Turkish coast. I supervised during the boats refit.
6 race entries- 4 in Bosforus, 1 from Istanbul to Bodrum, 1 Bodrum Cup (Winner) (Run with 16 crew).

Miles logged: 38,000nm. Jobs entailed: Celestrial navigation, Basic diesel maintenance, rig checks, knowledge of all instruments e.g. autopilot, SSB, GPS, radar.
A new boat was purchased in 1996 and between then and May 1998 my time was spent in refit, then extensive sailing of the Mediterranean.
