Introduction to Computers
- Aansweris an electronic device, operating under the control of instructions stored in its own memory that can accept data (input), process the data according to specified rules (process), produce results (output), and store the results (storage) for future use.
- Computers perform the four basic operations of answer, answer, answer, and answerwhich comprise the answer. Collectively, these operations change answerintoanswerandanswerit for future use.
- The six primary components of a computer are answer, the answer, answer, answer, answer, and answer.
- The answer provides icon symbols (visual cues) for the user to use to communicate with the computer.

Lesson 2: Hardware Components
- Answerare the electronic parts that make up a computer.
- The Answer takes electricity from the electrical source and converts it into a current that works for your computer. When your computer is turned on, this allows the converted electricity to travel to other components inside the computer.
- Sometimes called a system board, the answer is the main circuit board of the system unit and contains the processor, memory, and expansion cards.
- The Answer contains special circuits for operating the computer’s sound.
- The Answer handles graphics that are displayed on the monitor.
- The Answer is an expansion card that allows computers to talk to each other. It plugs in the computer in to a phone or cable line so that information can be transferred between computers.
- The answeror processor is made up of the answerunit and the answerunit.
- The Answer chip wakes up the computer when you turn it on and reminds the computer what parts it has and what they do.
- Answerchips will remember what you tell them and can even change to remember new information. RAM is more like a journal – you can write information into the journal. But if you change your mind, you can erase and write in new information. But, when the computer gets turned off, RAM will lose all of your work!
- Answerholds information that is built into it. ROM is like reading a library book – lots of information is there, but you can't change it (because you never write in a library book).
- Answerare connections on the outside of the computer case where you plug in hardware. On the inside of the case, they are connected to expansion cards. The keyboard, mouse, monitor, and printer all plug into these.
- Answerread information off of storage disks. The most common are the hard drive and CD-ROM.

Lesson4: Memory
- Answeris stored on chips located on the motherboard and holds all of the essential memory that tells your computer how to be a computer.
- Answeris stored in the hard drive and holds the information that you store in the computer.
Lesson 5: Programs
- Answeris using bits and bytes in different combinations to represent a code.
- Aansweris a set of instructions that tells the computer how to perform a specific task.
- Answeris copying the program or instructions on to your computer's hard drive.
