NorthWest Travel Soccer Coaches Meeting MinutesJune 14, 2015 7:00 PM Barkhamsted Town Garage

Attendees: Bryan Sautters (President), Rob Lewton (VP), Jen Prelli-Hester (Secretary), Adrienne Topa (Registrar), Tim Baran, Cari Boucher, Aaron Boucher, FranPantuosco, Jay Daigle, Mike Langer, Aaron Avenia

Election of Officers - The following officers were elected to the board for the 2015/2016 year:

  • President – Bryan Sautters
  • Vice President – Rob Lewton
  • Secretary – Jen Prelli-Hester
  • Registrar – Adrienne Topa
  • Assistant Registrar – Cari Boucher
  • Treasurer – Laurie

The Try-Out Coordinator position, which was discussed at the May meeting was not filled. Bryan suggested making the position more manageable by splitting it into age/gender groups. Rob Lewton agreed to handle the try-outs for the girls. The board is looking for coordinators for the following age groups (boys or both):

  • U9
  • U10/U11
  • U12+

Try-Outs – The try-out process was described and discussed. The league would like to hold try-outs on Tuesday 6/23 and Thursday 6/25. The age groups for each will be decided with the coaches and is dependent on coach availability.

  • The current U13 team (would be going to U14 in the fall) is dissolving as the current coach is not able to coach next year. The league would like to continue to have a team in this age group. There is interest from someone outside of the current team to create a U14 team. The league will be holding full try-outs for this team. Anyone on the current U13 team who would like to continue playing travel soccer, should attend the try-outs as well as all others in this age group.
  • The players age U13 and U14 for next season will try-out together. There will be an option at the try-outs for U13 age players to determine if they would like to try-out for either U13 or U14 or for both. Next years U13 team(s) are looking to add players and the U14 team will be newly formed.
  • Boys/co-ed teams aged U12, U11 and U10 are looking to add a few players each.
  • At the boys/co-ed U9 age, the existing team may add a player and there will probably be a new team formed.
  • The U13 girls have 3 sign-ups and will take all 3 players.
  • The U12 girls may add a few players.
  • The current U10 girls team would like to split into 2 teams for next year, some staying at U10, some going to U11, both will need to add players. Coach Boucher would coach the U10, Coach Avenia would coach the U11.

Payment – Starting next fall, the payment for the following season will be due 3 weeks prior to the current season end date. This is to ensure we know what is needed for try-outs prior to the season ending.
