What would have to happen if someone would seriously try to:
Put Christ Into Christmas?
These days of ‘making America great again’ could certainly bring a resurgence of the ‘religious right’ back to the forefront now that the ‘liberal left’ has supposedly been set back. Unfortunately, most of the ‘religious right’ are, in truth, the ‘religious wrong.’
I wonder, facetiously, of course, thatas people continue to tire of the irritations, falseness, busyness, frustrations, depressions, pressure and stress of Christmas, etc. if people will continue to speak more about bringing Christ back into Christmas now?
Unfortunately, people just do not realize that Christ was never in Christmas in the first place so there is nothing that can to be done when one says, “Put Christ back into Christmas.”
However, if one were to truly ‘attempt’ to put Christ ‘into’ Christmas, there are several things that would have to take place in order to try to make it Scripturally appropriate – to some degree, anyway.
The following are a few things that would have to be changed, depending on how much, if any, one would want to try toput Christinto their Christmas, all or at least some of the following would have to take place:
- They would have get simply get rid of the Nativity Scene, no matter what design, style or race, etc. is used these days. The only thing factually true in the nativity scene is the simple fact that Jesus was born a baby according to Matthew 1-3and Luke 2. From that point on, the “nativity” design is Scripturally incorrect.
- The manger is portrayed incorrectly; Jesus wasn’t a baby when the wise men visited with their gifts, etc.
- The stories of Nester, the long eared donkey and Small One would have absolutely no meaning for little kids who love fantasy as truth in their little lives – hoping there was a famous little donkey who carried Mary.
- People would see that even Mary says she magnified the Lord – not herself – and that God was her Saviour, not the other way around like she is portrayed today! Luke 1:46,47
- People would have to be reminded that the true story of the ‘wise’ men states that they were sent by Herod who was seeking to kill the child. Why would God put out the star to show the wise men who were seeking the whereabouts of the child so Herod could kill him. The rest of the story has a happy ending, but how many even know the truth behind the wise men?
- Speaking of killing, if Christ was actually ‘put into’ Christmas, and if all the church Sunday School Christmas playsstill chose not redo the entire manger scene, they would at least have to add in the scene where Herod “slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under…” (which by the way, is another proof that Jesus wasn’t a babe in a manger when the wise men arrived.)
- By the way – there were not ‘three’ kings – let alone any kings, etc. So, there goes another ‘classic song’ - there are no “we three kings from Orient are!”(and if there were, the word ‘orient’ would offend people today)
- And now, speaking of gifts, peoplewould be sent in their Christmas story to Revelation 11to find out the real ‘gift giving’ design – complete with giving gifts and making ‘merry’ in their ‘celebration’. The truth of ‘merry’ gift giving would certainly put a damper in the family celebration – unless of course, like today, many families are only ‘merry’ because the ‘truth’ has been destroyed so their Christmas can be a fun family gathering, complete with ‘gifts’ for everyone – with no guilt about any ‘Jesus’, etc. The more they get rid of Jesus, the merrier they are these days – just like it will be for those two witnesses!
- People would have to stop all the portraying of singing angels. The so-called herald angels never did ‘sing’ anything. Truthfully, angels are never mentioned as singing in the Scriptures. They ‘speak’ and they play trumpets – but singing? It is never mentioned. I suppose it is possible that they could be part of the voices in Revelation 14but it is never stated specifically that they are.
- (bunny trail) - Here is a unique thought: because the devil’s tabrets and pipes were prepared in him, folks tend to consider Satan as a musician, even to go so far as saying he was the ‘song leader’ to the angels, etc. If so, my thought would be that the ‘fallen angels were the singing angels and they were sent away with the devil when he was sent away. So, if that were all true, then what we have today is a powerful ‘false’ tool of music being led by Satan and his own angels – stealing the glory from God and giving it to himself as he continues to try to be ‘…like the most High. …an interesting thought… but just a thought.
- Back to the main point - If Christ was put into Christmas, then all the modern bibles would have to be tossed out because they have all completely changed the wording. They have portrayed a message of Christmas but have left out the truth of the words. Even Charlie Brown’s Linus knows to use the King James Bible when he recites fromLuke 2.
- According to Jeremiah 10, the Christmas tree tradition would have to go! There is no ‘tree’ in the nativity scene anyway, but if there was, it would have to be an olive tree – or a palm tree, etc.
- The decorations, the ornamentation, the lights, the candles, the yule log, the mistletoe and on and on … would all have to go!
- The candy manufacturers would have to quit making all the new colored candy canes. The shape of the letter would be better if it was a ‘C’ for ‘Christ’ referring to the living Christ today andit could only be red and white – no rainbow colors secretly representing another liberal left meaning.
- We would have to cancel the bogus statement, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” There would be no season! Seasons are for weather changes and hunting deer, elk, pheasants and ducks, etc.
- If Christ were put ‘into’ Christmas, we would see the shopping ‘deals of the year,’ etc. all stop – and stores would have to make their money throughout the entire year – not just at Christmas time.
- If the truth of Christ in Christmas would be the ‘theme’, then schools would not be able to have their greatly appreciated 1-2 week vacations. It would truly be considered a religious holiday.
- If there were still to be some sort of ‘time-off’ for schools, etc. it couldn’t be in December. Jesus was born closer to the Fall – I have heard right around the last part of October. Wouldn’t that just be the way the devil operates – to take the actual time Jesus was born and turn it into his own glorified holiday called Halloween! So,putting Christ into Christmas would mean changing Halloween to the time of Jesus’ birth. That would go over well…. Ha, right!
- We would never hear that awful ‘Happy Birthday Jesus’ singing again – nowhere in the Scriptures are told to celebrate His birthday. In fact, it is stated in Ecc 7:1, that the day of death is better than the day of one's birth. So if anyone wants to ‘celebrate’ anything, it should be when Jesus died – and Christ’s death is when the New Testament begins, according to Hebrews 9:16,17. That is far more important than the day He was born.
- (Bunny trail) - Don’t get excited about Easter – that is another unscriptural time. We will save that ‘commentary’ until then!
- I doubt many families would ‘get together’ as much and with such emphasis as we are seeing these days. Giving and receiving gifts seems to be the emphasis for Christmas, anyway. I wonder how many folks even know that it wasn’t that long ago when Christmas was not even allowed to be ‘celebrated’ in America.
- Greeting Card companies would go broke. However, if they could manage to keep making their cards, they would at least have to use King James Bibles for their verses. In fact, even todays greeting card companies are breaking copyright law when they do NOT use the reference to which bible their card is quoting. The rule is that if the verses is NOT KJB, then they must state the version they are quoting. If the verse has no bible listed, then it is assumed to be a King James Bible. I don’t think that is followed anymore!
- There would have to be an understanding about the details of the deceiving, dangerous Santa. Those details match Christ – thus making Santa a type of anti-Christ.
- Looking at Christmas musically, knowing that ONLY a King James Bible talks about God wanting to hear ‘melody’ as opposed to all the other bibles changing the word to ‘music’ – and knowing that the devil will use ‘all kinds of music’ as Nebuchadnezzar did in Daniel 3 – and knowing that of the three major elements of music (melody, harmony and rhythm,) we see that people will feel and follow ‘rhythm’ as the ‘sugar’ of the flesh! We certainly should know what the Scriptures say about the flesh!
- So then knowing that, it is obvious that the so-called Christmas carols would have to return to the beautiful melodies of yester-year, before the modern rock folks took them over! Yes, we know that the words are more often incorrect than correct, but if we look at them musically, those melodies are some of the greatest melodies written. Choirs and orchestras across the world have harmonized some of the soundsaccompanied with marvelous timbre to create some of the most beautiful music – and most memorable.
- There would be a greater interest in Handel’s “Messiah” part I, of course – then around Easter, the truth within “Messiah” part II, but maybe more folks would come to understand and appreciate part III – the part that is about Christ’s resurrection and past. Why just get hung up on the birth of Jesus when the joy is in His being risen!
- Putting Christ into Christmas would make people understand the true difference between Jews and Gentiles. It would be more than just being ‘aware’ and ‘tolerating’ Hanukkah as a Jewish holiday andJews ‘tolerating’ Christmas as the Christian holiday. It would be more than just accepting Christianity as a Judea-Christian religion; it would truly show the risen Christ compared to the baby Jesus.
- Instead of the Jewish Great Commission from the gospels as presented with any new modern bible, people would have to hear about the ‘Greater Commission’ from Paul, as found only in a King James 1611 Bible.
- It would be an opportunity to ‘witness’ beyond the birth of Jesus. The true opportunity would be for folks to realize how God looks AT the Jews and reaches out TO the Gentiles today. It would be an opportunity to remind folks about Romans 11:22– when the Gentiles are done with the goodness of God (which is Paul ONLY – in a KJB), God will then cut off the Gentile nation and go back to His chosen people, the Jews, thus beginning a new dispensation – Tribulation.
- If Christ would be included in Christmas, instead of hearing about old and modern form and variations of Matthew 1-3and Luke 2, we would hear an emphasisof other verses such as:
John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Philippians 2:6-11
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
I Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
A true “Christmas” would be about the RISEN CHRIST,
not the BABY JESUS.
In fact, the true Christmas wouldn’t even be called Christmas
because there is no Scriptural support of any need
for man’s designed and ritualistic ‘celebration
of mass’ known as Christmas
A true Christmas would not be Christ’s Mass!
A true Christmas would be having no Christmas at all!
